Job Summary:

ZelTech is seeking aProduction and Materials Controller onboard Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL. The ideal candidate shall have experience working with complex electro-mechanical systems and understand the processes, materials, and methods required to assemble advanced engineering products. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage dynamic priorities in a fast-paced engineering and production environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coordinate, and control all production materials, components, special tooling, and equipment required to support rapid engineering projects and daily operations.
  • Manage all parts, materials, and inventory required to support rapid engineering and production projects.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, material status, and replenishment requirements.
  • Ensure that parts, materials, tools, and resources are available when needed to support efficient build, assembly, testing, and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate material availability with engineering, production, purchasing, and project teams to prevent delays.
  • Develop and maintain inventory control processes, including tracking, kitting, storage, and issuance of components.
  • Monitor material consumption, identify shortages, and initiate replenishment activities as required.
  • Manage and control all special tools, fixtures, test equipment, and production support equipment used in daily operations.
  • Maintain tool accountability, calibration status, service requirements, and availability.
  • Support engineering builds, prototype development, and production activities by ensuring required materials and equipment are available.
  • Establish and maintain organized material storage and identification systems.
  • Review bills of materials (BOMs), assembly documentation, and engineering requirements to support accurate material planning.
  • Assist in resolving material discrepancies, shortages, substitutions, and inventory accuracy issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to material flow, inventory management, and production efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to inventory, tooling, and material control processes.


Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
  • Must have 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in production control, materials management, inventory control, manufacturing support, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems, assemblies, components, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Experience managing parts, hardware, electrical components, mechanical components, and specialized production materials.
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking systems, ERP/MRP systems, or similar material management tools.
  • Understanding of material replenishment processes and production scheduling requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering, technicians, suppliers, and production personnel.
  • Successful background and drug screening check.


Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience supporting prototype, rapid development, or low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with complex electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, or advanced technology products.
  • Experience managing tooling, fixtures, test equipment, and production support assets.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, or other manufacturing improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working in aerospace, defense, robotics, medical devices, or other highly regulated industries.
