Job Description

At Sinclair, the Product Owner is accountable for maximizing the value, reliability, and continuous improvement of established SaaS platform(s) used by internal teams. The role balances product enhancements with production stability, incident-driven priorities, technical health, vendor coordination, and evolving user needs. Working closely with business stakeholders, support, operations, and external providers, the Product Owner establishes clear product goals, orders the backlog, evaluates outcomes, and ensures that changes deliver measurable value.

Required Experience & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of Product Ownership experience, including Agile Scrum practices.

Demonstrated ability to:
  • Lead through influence, facilitate decisions, resolve competing priorities, and align business, technical, operational, and vendor stakeholders.
  • Analyze complex software behavior, reproduce issues, assess business impact, and coordinate diagnosis and resolution with technical, support, and vendor teams.
  • Create clear, appropriately scaled product artifacts, including goals, roadmap outcomes, user stories, acceptance criteria, nonfunctional requirements, defects, operational improvements, and decision records.
  • Prioritize and organize customer feedback, product data, support cases, incident trends, and operational metrics to guide product and service performance.
  • Customer-focused mindset with empathy, curiosity, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and effective when working through ambiguity, change, and deadline pressure.


Responsibilities:

Business Intake and Prioritization:
  • Build relationships across departments to understand business processes, user needs, pain points, and desired outcomes.
  • Gather and clarify requirements with stakeholders, end users, and subject matter experts; organize requests for prioritization based on business value, user impact, risk, dependencies, and organizational objectives.

Backlog and Roadmap Management:
  • Maintain a clear backlog and roadmap covering enhancements, defects, operational improvements, and support-driven needs.
  • Communicate priorities, requirements, constraints, and expected outcomes to stakeholders and vendor(s).

Vendor Governance, Delivery, and Validation:
  • Review vendor solutions, plans, estimates, dependencies, delivery progress, commitments, and service-level obligations; escalate gaps and risks.
  • Coordinate QA and UAT for release readiness, including defect resolution, business impacts, communications, training, and support readiness

Production Health and Continuous Improvement:
  • Monitor service performance, incidents, recurring defects, user feedback, and operational metrics to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Review major incidents, root causes, corrective actions, and delivered outcomes with support, operations, and the vendor.

Product Knowledge and Documentation:
  • Maintain product knowledge and essential documentation, including goals, requirements, decisions, roadmap outcomes, and release notes.
  • Other duties as assigned.


The base salary compensation range for this role is $85,000 to $105,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
