Full Job Description
The Product Owner is responsible for ensuring that technology products of moderate complexity, which may include AI-enabled features, meet stakeholder needs and business requirements. An ideal candidate has some experience owning a product or product component and a working understanding of product management techniques. The candidate must be able to translate business value and goals into refined product backlogs, typically with guidance from a senior Product Manager.

What You'll Be Doing:

Vision 30%: Product owner works to understand the product market fit, product life cycle and the long-term strategy for the product within the market, supporting product level decisions and recommendations made with a senior Product Manager. The Product Owner collaborates with stakeholders and helps maintain the product roadmap, with upcoming short-term goals, and communicates the roadmap to the delivery team and other stakeholders. They also help translate the general Product vision into specific Product features and contribute to long-term planning through regular road mapping. Uses AI-assisted tools to support research, documentation, and roadmap communication, applying judgment about when AI output needs validation from a senior team member.

Refinement & Prioritization 40%: The Product Owner helps identify business goals and problem statements to ensure the product aligns to these criteria.

Works with the stakeholders to define what business value means and uses this definition to assess each feature/story. Works to understand the stakeholders' vision for the product and assists in defining that vision to help ensure that the right product is built. Identify requirements and work with delivery team to write, refine and review/approve user stories. The Product Owner is responsible for understanding the various users of the product, including other systems that may consume the product.

Work with stakeholders to help prioritize work in the backlog to maximize the value the team delivers.

Delivery & Leadership 30%: Ensure that delivered products meet the stakeholder needs and business requirements. Ensure that the team understands the vision of the product along with the context of the stories in the backlog and that the team has adequate information to deliver the stories.

Demo product to the client and stakeholders and confirm that the product being delivered meets the stakeholders' needs. Assess delivery progress and communicate with stakeholders. Collaborate with other Product Owners (internal and client) to share and apply best practices. Monitor the Product metrics and help identify opportunities to increase the Product's business value, under the guidance of a Product Manager.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or industry related experience preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 3 plus Years' Experience in a Product Owner technology related role or equivalent type experience.
  • Developing experience in helping stakeholders identify business value/objectives and using this to help prioritize work. Working understanding of 'Personas' and how to identify users and represent their needs.
  • Capable of researching, analyzing, and helping identify requirements.
  • Developing skill in breaking down and organizing requirements, with a growing understanding of the relationship between business goals, product vision and Epics/Features/Stories.
  • Foundational balance of technical knowledge, business acumen, and Agile knowledge, including basic AI/data literacy and awareness of responsible AI practices.
  • Developing consulting skills.
  • Ability to contribute to end-to-end delivery of solutions across a variety of solutions and technologies, utilizing agile principles.


Things you need to know:
  • Position will be hybrid working three days a week in our Fenton, MO location (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
  • Travel: 5%
