Inside the Role

As our Junior Product Owner, you are the engine that turns product vision into shippable software. You work closely with two Product Managers to translate requirements into sprint-ready user stories with clear acceptance criteria, while also partnering with Product Managers and Product Owners across the enterprise to coordinate cross-team dependencies, sequencing, and delivery.

This role is perfect for someone who is highly organized, detail-obsessed, and energized by turning ambiguity into clear, buildable work.

What You Drive at DTNA

Backlog & story ownership

  • Translate Product Manager requirements (PRDs, epics, business rules) into clear, sprint-ready user stories.
  • Author acceptance criteria and definition-of-done for each story so the team knows exactly what 7built and done8 means; review and confirm with the owning PM.
  • Maintain backlog hygiene and in-sprint prioritization across related product areas, keeping stories groomed, ordered, and ready.

Sprint execution

  • Run backlog refinement sessions and drive story readiness ahead of each sprint.
  • Own sprint-planning inputs 1 what is ready and in what order 1 and make day-to-day, in-sprint scope tradeoffs with the responsible PM.
  • Partner with developers throughout the sprint on clarifications, estimation, and unblocking.

Quality, regression & UAT

  • Coordinate release readiness and regression activities with development teams and cross-functional partners to help ensure quality before launch.
  • Prepare UAT test cases from acceptance criteria, coordinate testers, and log and track defects to resolution.
  • Perform story-level QA and confirm work meets acceptance criteria before it reaches PM sign-off and go/no-go.

Collaboration & coordination

  • Partner with the UX/UI team on story-level design hand-offs.
  • Work with program and product partners on dependencies. Escalate blockers and risks early.
  • Communicate clear, timely status to product, program, design, engineering, and business partners.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, and 2-4 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree, is required.
  • 1 3 years in a product owner, business analyst, QA, associate PM, or similar delivery-focused role
  • Agile/Scrum fundamentals; you understand backlogs, sprints, user stories, acceptance criteria, and the ceremonies that keep a team moving.
  • Requirements-to-stories translation; you can turn a business need into clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail; you keep a backlog clean and never let a story enter a sprint without clarity.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Comfort with backlog/ALM tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar.
  • Exposure to digital products, customer-facing platforms, or complex enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with UAT planning and defect tracking.
  • Basic understanding of APIs, integrations, or how modern web applications are built.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and how they can improve customer and internal user experiences.
