Title: Product Marketing ManagerReports to: Brand Marketing Director - ZenfolioLocation: Remote (CA) About the RoleWe're looking for a
Product Marketing Manager to own positioning, messaging, and go-to-market projects for our photography software platform - Zenfolio. You'll be the connection between Product, Marketing, and Customer-facing teams; and the person who deeply understands what makes Zenfolio different, why it matters to photographers, and how to bring that value to market in a way that drives acquisition, retention, and expansion.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who is equally comfortable digging into a Product Requirement Document, running a Go To Market project end to end, sitting with customer data, crafting a narrative, and standing on a trade show floor. You'll shape not just how we talk about our product, but which opportunities we pursue and how we measure success.
Primary ResponsibilitiesDrive go-to-market execution:
- Own GTM for the product as a whole, specific segments or specific features according to our users seasonal needs and our product roadmap.
- Develop clear positioning and messaging that connects Zenfolio's value to real customer pain points, value propositions, taglines, social proof, and use cases.
- For each project, define the essentials: objectives, priority segments, features to highlight, resourcing, timing, a messaging framework, and a recommended channel mix.
- Set success definitions up front; financial goals, leading KPIs, and a clear measurement approach. Then build the plan and brief, align stakeholders, and drive execution to completion.
- Partner with cross-functional experts to ensure each GTM effort hits its goals, generates learnings, and feeds an evolving playbook of what to continue, stop, optimize, and test next.
Positioning and Messaging:
- Develop feature positioning and messaging
- Crafting compelling narratives that connect Zenfolio's value to customer pain points
- Coordinate with cross functional team members to align messaging
- Identify gaps and opportunities to influence new projects
Be the product expert:
- Serve as the subject-matter expert on Zenfolio's product and its differentiation within the photography market.
- Partner with product managers to shape a high-level roadmap that unlocks new opportunities, reaching new parts of the photography segment, retaining existing users, and growing customers as they scale.
- Build a monthly, qualitative and quantitative understanding of which customers succeed on the platform today, and define the actions needed to drive more of them to success.
- Work directly in the software to learn the new features firsthand, provide early feedback on designs and demos, and produce screenshots and screen recordings that fuel marketing.
- Identify gaps and opportunities in our communication channels and messaging and prioritize recommendations for improvements
Market Intelligence:
- Own the competitive research (in partnership with our research team), tracks industry trends, and shapes product positioning
- Track competitor product launches, pricing shifts, and go-to-market moves.
- Partner with product teams to guide roadmap priorities using market data.
Represent Zenfolio in market:
- Represent Zenfolio's volume solutions at trade shows and other customer-facing events.
What we'd like to see in our ideal candidateMust haves:- 4+ years in product marketing, product management, content marketing, or a closely related role, ideally in SaaS, marketplaces, or tools for creative professionals and small businesses.
- A proven track record leading go-to-market launches end to end, from positioning through measurement.
- Strong messaging and positioning instincts, with an ability to turn a technical feature set into a compelling narrative built around customer needs.
- Comfort working with data - assessing and understanding customer and funnel metrics, forming a point of view with actionable steps, and tracking KPIs.
- Cross-functional leadership: you influence and align Product, Marketing, and Customer Success without formal authority.
- A bias toward action and experimentation, you frame work as tests with clear learning objectives, then act on what you learn.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and comfort presenting to leadership and to customers.
Nice-to-haves:- Experience marketing to photographers, creatives, or other visual professionals.
- Experience positioning AI-powered features in a competitive market.
