Full Job Description
Essence of the Role

Allium is proving that a canonical, enterprise-grade data layer for onchain finance is possible, and it's working. Our institutional business is growing fast, with relationships spanning major banks, payment networks, asset managers, and regulators. Ahead of us: a large and growing list of institutional targets, a pipeline of concrete deals across those same segments, and a product line shipping faster than our story can keep pace with.

We already have a clear vision for where Allium is going. The role is to ensure the market understands it by deeply understanding our customers, refining how we position our products, and helping every launch land with institutional buyers. We need someone who can turn a fast-moving, technical roadmap into segment-specific sales ammunition (payments, issuance, trading, custody, lending, research) at the volume and speed a scaling institutional pipeline now demands, while keeping our competitive story sharp as more banks, exchanges, and asset managers evaluate us against alternatives.

This is a product-first, execution-heavy role, covering the entire Allium product suite. Content marketing (e.g., website, social, and top-of-funnel distribution) live with our Growth Marketing function. You'll spend your time in target-account strategy, competitive positioning, and launch enablement for long, multi-stakeholder institutional deals, working in daily partnership with Product and Sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Become the Voice of the Institutional Buyer: Develop a deep understanding of how each customer segment thinks, evaluates vendors, and makes decisions, then translate those insights into positioning, messaging, and sales enablement that resonates.
  • Competitive War Room: Own and keep current our competitive positioning against crypto-native data providers and other alternatives (including customers' in-house build option), and arm Sales to win head-to-head evaluations as institutional scrutiny increases.
  • Launch Translation: Partner with Product to turn new capabilities into customer value, ensuring every launch clearly communicates why it matters, who it's for, and why institutions should care.
  • Packaging & Pricing Support: Work with Sales and RevOps to develop language and materials for evolving pricing and packaging motions (e.g. usage-based data plans, trial structures) that reduce friction in enterprise deal cycles.
  • Win/Loss & Account Intelligence: Run structured win/loss interviews across a fast-growing named-account list, and turn what you learn into sharper battlecards, refined ICP definitions, and roadmap input.
  • Research-Driven Proof: Partner with our research/analyst function to package data-driven reports and case studies (e.g. stablecoin and tokenized-asset research) into sales-ready proof points and thought leadership that open doors with new institutional targets.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Work daily with Product (translating platform/user feedback into roadmap-informed messaging), Sales/RevOps (pipeline and account rigor), and Growth Marketing (distribution) to keep product truth, market truth, and field execution in sync.

About You
  • Experience: 5+ years in product marketing for a technical or data-centric product, ideally with exposure to enterprise/complex sales cycles; experience marketing to banks, asset managers, market infrastructure operators, or other regulated financial institutions is a strong plus.
  • Built for execution at scale, not just strategy: You can produce a steady stream of segment-specific collateral without sacrificing quality. This role is as much about throughput as insight, given how many institutional segments and accounts we're supporting at once.
  • Institutional fluency: Comfortable with the language of custody, settlement, reconciliation, market structure, market surveillance, and compliance. You are able to speak credibly to a compliance officer or a bank's Head of Digital Assets as well as the hands-on developer.
  • Competitive instinct: Enjoys the sharp-elbows work of competitive positioning, building battlecards, running win/loss, and training Sales to win specific deals through competitive brand narrative.
  • Product fluency: Comfortable getting into product and data details; you can sit in a roadmap review or read a data model and translate it into a buyer-facing story.
  • Customer-obsessed: Treats win/loss and customer interviews as a standing habit, versus an afterthought, and uses them to sharpen positioning and influence roadmap.
  • Collaborative operator: Works fluidly with Product, Engineering, GTM, and Growth Marketing as the connective tissue across teams.
  • Curious and data-minded: A "Sherlock & Enola Holmes" level of curiosity to dig into data, uncover insights, and turn them into differentiated, defensible narratives.
  • Blockchain, data infra, & TradFi proficiency: Solid understanding of blockchain technology and how it intersects with traditional financial market structure (payments, custody, trading, settlement), with the ability to communicate fluently with both crypto-native and TradFi, technical and non-technical, stakeholders.

Ok, now for some tough love. Here are the values we strive for at Allium:
  • Obsessiveness - The best people at Allium cannot put a problem down once they pick it up. We care more about the work than is strictly rational. Institutions trust us because our data is right. Right means caring about the small things. The decoded contract that ships with one wrong field. The label that is 99% accurate but wrong on the address that matters. The query that runs in 4 seconds when it should run in 400 milliseconds. Most companies tolerate these. We do not.
Obsessiveness shows up as depth of care. It is not measured in hours worked or visible effort. You should feel something physical when work ships half-right. That instinct is what we hire for.
  • Pro Athlete Mindset - Consistency. Day in and day out, in pursuit of excellence. A win yesterday does not guarantee (or even imply!) a win tomorrow. I hope anyone who supports a failing sports team will feel the pain (cough Man United fans) of inconsistency
  • Figure It Out & Extreme Ownership - Every day is unexplored territory. There are new engineering frameworks, new legal docs, new compliance, new sales, new regulations, and new operational procedures every single day. If you don't know it, learn it. If you can't learn it, find someone or a product that does it. If you can't find someone, find someone who can find someone. It is never a lack of resources, but lack of resourcefulness.
  • High Agency - (One of) the highest commonalities between all successful people is their responsiveness. Most successful billionaire CEOs still reply to emails within minutes (within working hours). And when you reply, respond fast with effective solutions - and even better, resolutions. If you're looking for a superpower, you can't go wrong with responsiveness. Well of course this doesn't make sense when you're an engineer coding in flow, but in general high agency of problem solving gets one very far in life
  • Leading from the Front - No one is going to listen (and adopt) your suggestion unless you lead by example. It's one thing to say We need to do XYZ this better & it's another thing to build an MVP and say "This is the way we should do things". The proof of work and momentum goes a long way.
  • Strong Opinions On the Future (loosely held) - It is okay to be wrong, but what is not okay is not to have an idea of how a better future should be. Alliumites take pride in trying to improving everything about the company all the time.
  • Sense of (Allium) business smell - There are number of folks who live to eat at Allium, but the Allium smell we are talking about is that we love folks who naturally want to know why and how the work they are doing builds leverage for their teammates and also relates to the business goals

About the team

We invite people of all backgrounds (https://www.allium.so/about). We have engineers who learnt coding much later in life, who learnt coding on the side, we have engineers who are still in school and we also have engineers who went to the top schools (CMU, Stanford, UIUC, UPenn, Oxford, NUS, Cornell), all are welcome if one comes in with a curious mind and an infectious work ethic.

Administrative Benefits
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and AD&D insurance - US folks get 100% coverage for Gold plans, 80% for dependents
  • Ownership - Meaningful early-stage equity. Every full-time employee receives a stock option grant so you can share directly in Allium's upside
  • Time off - Flexible, trust-based paid time off. We encourage people to take the rest they need. In every country we hire, our policies meet or exceed local statutory vacation requirements
  • Retirement - Company sponsored 401(k) plan in US so you can save pre-tax for the long term

Note: The sun never sets on Allium - we hire from any geographical location as long as you are willing to overlap 2 hours overlap on NYC mornings Mon-Thurs from 10am-12pm ET. We have people based in New York, Seattle, Singapore and Australia.
