OverviewWho We're Looking For Toyota Financial Services is looking for a product manager who is obsessed with the customer, makes decisions with data, and moves with the urgency of a startup inside one of the world's most trusted brands.
This isn't a project management role. You won't be taking requirements from the business and handing them to engineering. You'll own the discovery and inventory experience end-to-end - the answer to the question "can the customer find the right vehicle?" At the heart of that experience is a sophisticated AI-powered search agent, and defining how it understands intent, reasons over inventory, and guides shoppers to the right result is the core of this role. You'll own both the quality of the inventory data feeding that agent and the intelligent discovery experience it delivers, end-to-end. You'll talk to real shoppers, dig into the data to find where discovery breaks down, and make hard trade-off decisions with incomplete information.
We're looking for someone who is genuinely excited by this problem - a PM who has defined AI-driven or conversational search experiences before, understands how these systems behave, and wants to push the boundary of what an AI discovery agent can do.
If you've thrived in a startup or early-stage product environment and yet can navigate, anticipate and address the needs of a large enterprise, this is the role.
What You'll Be Doing - Own the vision and implementation of the AI-powered discovery experience - how the search agent interprets natural-language and conversational queries, reasons over inventory, ranks relevance, uses aggregations to power faceting and filtering, and guides shoppers to the right vehicle. You'll partner with AI/ML engineering to evaluate and continuously improve the agent, from prompt and retrieval strategy to measuring answer quality, relevance, and trust
- Own the definition and quality of the inventory data foundation - the ingestion, normalization, and enrichment pipelines that feed the discovery experience and every other experience that depends on trustworthy inventory data
- Talk to customers regularly - run usability tests, join discovery interviews, and use what you learn to shape the product
- Define product strategy through PR/FAQs and PRDs that articulate the customer problem, the solution, and how we'll measure success
- Make prioritization decisions based on data, customer feedback, and business impact - not opinions or stakeholder loudness
- Partner with engineering and design - you bring the "what" and "why," they bring the "how"
- Ship incrementally - define releases, set acceptance criteria, and get working software in front of users fast
- Instrument everything - define success metrics for findability and conversion, build dashboards, and use data to decide what to build next
What You Bring - 7+ years of produt management experience on consumer-facing digital products
- Experience with search, relevance, filtering, or data-heavy discovery products - you understand how data quality and ranking shape whether a customer finds what they need
- Experience defining AI-powered product experiences - conversational agents, natural-language or semantic search, LLM-driven features, or recommendation systems - and a genuine passion for pushing what they can do
- Hands-on with data - you're comfortable digging into large datasets, writing queries, and working with aggregations to understand behavior and measure quality yourself, not waiting on a report
- Track record of shipping products that customers actually use - not just features that got deployed
- Experience working directly with engineering teams in an agile environment in order to ensure that what is built matches your vision in the most effective way
- Strong written communication - you can write a clear product brief that engineering, design, and business stakeholders all understand
- Startup mindset with enterprise polish - you're comfortable with ambiguity, you move fast, but you can bring along critical stakeholders with patience and confident leadership
- Passion for modern product management practices and AI-powered tooling - you actively explore how AI can accelerate discovery, analysis, and delivery
Added bonus if you have - Experience in automotive, fintech, lending, or marketplace products
- Experience integrating and normalizing third-party data feeds at scale
- Experience building products that involve regulatory or compliance considerations
- You've written a PR/FAQ or similar "working backwards" product document
