About the role The Product Foundations & Time domain stewards the core experiences, infrastructure, and workforce tools that underpin how administrators and their employees navigate, track, and manage their work on Justworks. It owns the systems that enable accurate time tracking, PTO and time-off management, mobile access, reporting, navigation, and shared product surfaces, forming the reliable, high-performance foundation that supports every Justworks product and empowers businesses to stay compliant, productive, and connected.
Within Product Foundations & Time, the Time mission team owns how Justworks customers manage workforce time: time off and time worked. Time Off covers leave policies, PTO balances, and the workflows admins and employees use to request and approve time away. Time Worked covers how hours are captured, reviewed, and passed to payroll across Justworks' customer base. As a Product Manager on Time, you'll spend the majority of your time executing against well-defined problem sets. You'll be in high learning mode, obsessing over the needs of our customers, soaking up how the Justworks Product team conducts its work and be expected to execute on all the basic skills of product management with active coaching from your manager. As you gain a richer understanding of our customers and business model, you'll be involved in increasingly complicated bodies of work.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate ownership for the products you build and an understanding of shipping services that can perform and scale with Justworks
- Shape the strategy and roadmap for key Time initiatives and articulate a compelling vision of business impact to stakeholders across the product and engineering organizations
- Partner deeply with engineering to investigate and prioritize issues/bugs and develop technical knowledge with their guidance
- Actively hone your knowledge of the PDLC, from discovery through delivery and iteration
- Build strong relationships across teams by demonstrating curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to customer-centered partnership
- Contribute to team problem-solving and actively support or facilitate team processes and ceremonies.
- Take on opportunities beyond core responsibilities to support product strategy and drive impact
What you'll need- Minimum of 2 years of product management experience in a modern technology business or equivalent experience in software engineering, data science, or business analytics
- A strong commitment to problem-solving, capable of breaking down complex problems for team execution against business needs
- A willingness to deeply understand the fundamentals of our business model and prioritize your own education and development through interviews with coworkers, customers and prospects
- Deep user empathy and a high bar for user experience
- Excellent persuasion and advocacy skills, using clear frameworks, story-telling and first-principles reasoning
- Strong technical acumen is a plus
- Prior experience working in a highly regulated domain (e.g. fintech or healthcare) is a plus.
The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $131,000.00 - $169,000.00 per year.
Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
