Full Job Description

About the Pro Activation & Success Team

Thumbtack's Pro Activation & Success pillar helps local service businesses discover Thumbtack, get started, find success, and grow with us over time. We build products and experiences that help more pros thrive, partnering closely with marketing, partnerships, and sales across the full pro journey. We're a highly collaborative, data-driven team united by a simple goal: helping pros build stronger businesses.

About the role

Thumbtack was originally built to serve individual professionals and small businesses. Now, larger and more sophisticated businesses represent one of our biggest opportunities for growth - and serving them well requires us to rethink what Thumbtack can offer. In this role, you'll shape how we win with this segment, from connecting Thumbtack with the tools pros use to run their businesses to creating the foundational experiences they need to succeed at scale. You'll work closely with our partnerships and business development teams to turn integrations into meaningful growth, identify and scale new growth levers tailored to this segment, and bring differentiated products to market.

What you'll do
  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for unlocking growth among larger, more sophisticated pros, with accountability for customer and business outcomes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how these pros operate, using research and data to identify unmet needs, product gaps, and new opportunities for growth.
  • Set the strategy for our APIs, data integrations, and partner offerings, working directly with partnerships, business development, and external partners to create value for pros and open new growth channels.
  • Lead new products and capabilities from early discovery through launch and adoption, helping complex businesses succeed on a product originally designed for smaller businesses.
  • Partner with engineering to make thoughtful tradeoffs between near-term opportunities and durable technical foundations that can support future products and partnerships.
  • Bring engineering, design, data science, marketing, sales, and partnerships together around clear priorities and lead execution across organizational boundaries.
  • Define success, test the highest-potential ideas, and use what you learn to scale the experiences and growth levers that deliver meaningful results.

In order to be successful, you must bring
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of owning complex product areas and delivering meaningful customer and business outcomes.
  • Experience turning ambiguous, early stage opportunities into clear product strategies and taking new products from discovery through launch and adoption.
  • Strong technical fluency and experience owning technically complex products, with the ability to partner with engineering on APIs, data, integrations, and system tradeoffs while keeping customer value at the center.
  • Excellent product judgment and customer empathy, with the ability to understand complex business workflows and turn them into simple, intuitive experiences.
  • Strong analytical thinking and business acumen, including the ability to uncover growth opportunities, define success, and balance near-term impact with long-term investments.
  • An AI-first mindset: curiosity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for using agentic AI workflows throughout product development, paired with sound judgment about where AI adds value.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead across engineering, design, data science, commercial teams, and external stakeholders, using clear communication to navigate different incentives and build alignment.
