Full Job Description
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc.).
  • Experience developing consumer hardware products, specifically in wearables, mobile, or compact smart devices.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience taking an audio hardware product (e.g., smart earbuds, headphones) from initial concept through mass production and launch.
  • Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams (including Hardware, Acoustics, and Software engineering), advocating initiatives, and driving product decisions.
  • Familiarity with device architecture specific to audio wearables, including acoustics, miniature sensors, components, system software, silicon, and digital signal processors (DSPs).
  • Background in software development, including apps and services, and embedded systems in power-constrained environments.
  • Excellent user experience intuition; demonstrated success in inventing innovative and user-friendly wearable or audio products.

In this role, you will define, build, and ship foundational capabilities that power devices at the frontier of computing and AI. You will play a critical role in shaping and building 0 to 1 products, influencing how users in the future will connect with information, ideas and one another.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities
  • Curate product definition and communicate hardware and software requirements for Pixel Wearable devices. This includes synthesizing a variety of insights through discovery and concepting while also driving decision making on nuanced product tradeoffs informed by key user journeys, technical insights, and product strategy.
  • Own and manage the entire product lifecycle from product concept and definition through development, launch and end of life. This includes collaborating with engineering and many support teams across Google.
  • Influence the product line strategy and roadmap including long-term goal, user segment insights, technical innovation, market trends, and platform capabilities.
