Job Description

The Product Manager for CDS Software is responsible for defining and managing Agilent's software maintenance, upgrade, entitlement, and support offerings across the OpenLab CDS portfolio and select CDS products. This role owns the product strategy, roadmap, commercialization, and lifecycle management of SMA (Software Maintenance) offerings that help customers maximize the value of their software investments through upgrades, support, and lifecycle protection.

Working across Product Management, R&D, Marketing, Sales, Services, Product Support, Licensing, IT, and Customer Success teams, the Product Manager translates customer needs and business strategy into valuable solutions that drive customer success, software adoption, and recurring revenue growth. The role serves as the business owner for SMA programs, migration initiatives, software lifecycle strategies, and select CDS products.

Key Responsibilities

Own Product Strategy & Roadmap

Define and manage the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle for Software Maintenance Agreements (SMA) and assigned CDS add-on products.

Drive Customer Value & Adoption

Understand customer and field needs and translate insights into offerings that improve upgrades, support, lifecycle management, and product adoption.

Lead Cross-Functional Execution

Partner with R&D, Marketing, Sales, Services, Support, Licensing, and IT teams to define requirements, prioritize investments, and deliver business outcomes.

Grow Commercial Performance

Develop business cases, pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategies that drive recurring revenue, renewal rates, and customer retention.

Manage Product Lifecycle & Migration Initiatives

Guide software lifecycle policies, upgrade programs, migration strategies, and customer transition plans across the CDS portfolio.

Enable Organizational Readiness

Support product launches, sales enablement, training, communications, and performance measurement to ensure successful adoption and execution.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent qualification with 8+ years of relevant experience.

  • Proven product management experience across the product lifecycle.

  • Experience with software products, maintenance agreements, licensing, subscriptions, SaaS, or recurring revenue business models.

  • Strong business acumen with experience in commercialization, pricing, business case development, and go-to-market planning.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.

  • Experience working with global teams and managing competing priorities.

  • Knowledge of laboratory informatics, chromatography data systems (CDS), software licensing, or regulated laboratory environments is highly desirable.

  • Experience with AI and application of AI in Laboratory software environment is highly desirable

  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Additional Details

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $139,440.00 - $261,450.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
