What we offer

The Product Manager will help develop and advance Stelumar's portfolio of housing and building solutions. Working across design, engineering, manufacturing, construction, and commercial teams, this role turns product concepts into standardized, production-ready solutions. The ideal candidate pairs strong technical knowledge of building systems with project management skills and the ability to align stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Lead product development from concept through design, testing, validation, and production readiness, owning plans, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
• Develop and evaluate product concepts and design improvements, balancing cost, manufacturability, constructability, structural performance, building performance, scalability and customer requirements.
• Gather input from customers, sales, development, and site teams to define requirements and inform roadmap priorities.
• Partner with internal engineering, design, manufacturing, procurement, and construction teams, as well as external architects, engineers, consultants, and trades, to turn requirements into practical, standardized solutions and resolve design issues.
• Assess new products, materials, and technologies, and recommend options based on cost, performance, lead time, and scalability.
• Lead value engineering to simplify designs, reduce cost, and improve manufacturability and performance.
• Coordinate prototyping, mock-ups, and testing, and translate findings into design changes and production requirements.
• Drive product standardization and build repeatable platforms that can be deployed across housing types.
• Support the transition of new and revised products into manufacturing and field installation, troubleshooting issues along the way.
• Maintain product requirements, specifications, design decisions, and test results throughout the development lifecycle.
• Define and track product metrics such as cost, installation time, and quality to drive continuous improvement.
• Prepare recommendations and updates for senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in product development, engineering, design, construction, building products, or manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of building systems and the interaction between architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing considerations.
• Experience taking technical or building products through the development lifecycle, from concept to production.
• Experience evaluating design alternatives and making recommendations that balance cost, performance, manufacturability, and constructability.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with proven experience leading cross-functional projects with technical and business stakeholders while juggling multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort navigating ambiguity.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical specialists, suppliers, operations teams, and business leaders.
• Self-directed, with a track record of owning initiatives and driving decisions forward.

Bonus Points

• Strong understanding of building systems and the interaction between architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing considerations.
• Experience with modular or panelized construction methods.
• Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code and relevant CSA standards.
• Proficiency with CAD/BIM tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
• P.Eng. or PMP designation, or progress toward one.
• Experience applying design for manufacturing and assembly (DfMA) principles.

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $110,000. Actual pay may vary depending on your job-related knowledge, competencies, and skills. We recognize that exceptional situations may fall outside this range, and we encourage all interested candidates to apply.
