The Product Manager is responsible for identifying and understanding customer needs, market opportunities, and industry trends, then translating these insights into a strategic product roadmap. This role manages products from concept through launch, and may include post-launch lifecycle responsibility, balancing innovation with operational excellence. It requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, customers, and partners to ensure products are desirable, viable, and feasible. The Product Manager also develops and manages the product's business model, including pricing strategy, revenue targets, and cost considerations to ensure long-term product viability. They partner with sales, marketing, and leadership to define go-to-market strategies, support product positioning, and enable successful market adoption while monitoring product financial performance and market traction.
Key Responsibilities: Strategy & Portfolio Management- Understand product strategy, products and offers within the portfolio, and how assigned work supports it.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate roadmaps for assigned products aligned with strategy and market needs.
- Use performance data to evaluate product success and recommend improvements or enhancements.
Market & Customer Insights- Discover, empathize with, and communicate customers' problems, needs, and "jobs to be done."
- Conduct research and analysis on market trends, competition, and emerging opportunities.
- Evaluate products and related solutions against market and customer needs to ensure optimal product-market fit.
Product Development & Delivery- Represent the voice of the customer in roadmap and product development decisions.
- Write clear product requirements, user stories, and value statements.
- Drive products through the full development cycle, from concept to post-launch optimization.
- Verify design, test prototypes, and recommend iterations based on feedback and learnings.
- Ensure smooth ownership transition post-launch and provide training as needed.
- Partner with development and delivery teams to improve internal processes.
Facilitation & Collaboration- Facilitate communication and collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Lead workshops with customers and internal teams to gather external and internal input, refine product requirements, and make decisions.
- Align feedback from multiple sources into cohesive project proposals.
Essential Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field; 3-5 years of relevant product management experience.
- Experience delivering products/services in a growth environment.
- Manufacturing/industrial sector experience preferred.
Certifications:- Product Management certification is a plus.
Travel requirements: Travel up to 30-35% for customer visits, market research, and project collaboration.
Compensation: The pay range for this position is $79,100 to $98,880+ benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting. The pay is determined by job related skills, training, education, and experience.
