Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in consumer product management.
  • 3 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering and UX/User Experience Researcher (UXR) teams to define user-facing product requirements and launch features.
  • Experience with Generative AI (model quality, costing, responsibility, performance, etc).

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 3 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
  • Experience automating workflows with Generative AI.
  • Experience with identifying product market fit of new features and products.
  • Experience in driving go-to-market strategy for new products and features.
  • Knowledge of short form video creation and creative tools in general (e.g., CapCut, InShot, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).

As a Product Manager for YouTube Effects, you will shape the future of creative expression for millions of creators worldwide. You will own the end-to-end roadmap for the effects experience in the shorts camera and editor, spanning traditional Augmented Reality (AR) to Generative AI capabilities. You will lead the strategy for both first-party and branded effects. You will partner with brands to create iconic branded effects, and pioneer agentic workflows to scale production of first-party effects. You will work at the intersection of product, marketing, and culture supercharging key cultural moments with some of YouTube's most innovative creative tools.

Responsibilities
  • Own core effects experience which covers both user-facing features across shorts camera and editor, and technical capabilities (object segmentation, face mesh, audio, Generative AI transformations, etc).
  • Lead first-party and branded effects strategy. Co-own the roadmap of new capabilities (inc. Generative AI) and partner with brands to create iconic branded effects.
  • Define and lead strategy to scale production of first-party effects, including defining agentic workflows to identify trends and automate effect creation. Partner with marketing to empower internal teams to develop high quality, hyper localized, and culturally relevant effects.
  • Partner with Marketing and Go-to-Market teams to supercharge trends and key cultural moments with effects, and lead new improvements for in-product effect activations.
