Full Job Description
Summary:

We are seeking a highly analytical and customer-focused Product Manager to join our Controlled Substances Reporting team. This role is ideal for a data-focused Product Manager with a strong product foundation who is ready to go deep - building rare, hard-to-develop expertise in one of healthcare's most complex and highly regulated domains, where data quality, regulatory nuance, and customer trust are everything.

As a Product Manager, you will establish yourself as the subject matter expert in Controlled Substance data and reporting solutions, partnering with customers, engineering, analytics, and product leadership to develop products that deliver meaningful value to healthcare organizations, pharmacies, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in SQL and Tableau, and the ability to translate complex customer, business, and regulatory requirements into scalable product solutions.

Active, fluent use of AI-supported tools is essential to operating effectively at this scale. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, comfortable working with large and complex datasets, and excited to use data-driven insights to influence product decisions.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Bamboo Health's Controlled Substance products, data assets, reporting capabilities, customer use cases, and regulatory landscape.
  • Use SQL, Tableau, and other analytical tools to identify customer needs, investigate data questions, validate assumptions, and support product decision-making.
  • Own the discovery, prioritization, definition, and delivery of Controlled Substances reporting and data product initiatives from problem identification through customer adoption.
  • Help define the strategy for Controlled Substances data products, including how reporting, analytics, governance, metadata, and AI-enabled capabilities can support customer value, scalability, and revenue growth.
  • Partner with customer-facing teams to manage customer expectations, clarify scope, communicate tradeoffs, and distinguish between defects, MVP gaps, enhancements, and requests that are not technically feasible or strategically aligned.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve data governance, reduce customer friction, and recommend scalable solutions.
  • Support the development of AI-enabled analytics capabilities by defining use cases, data requirements, governance needs, and success metrics.
  • Translate customer feedback, market needs, business requirements, and data insights into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and success measures.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure delivered solutions meet customer and business expectations.
  • Evaluate competing customer, regulatory, technical, support, and revenue priorities to recommend roadmap tradeoffs and protect delivery focus.
  • Create and maintain product documentation, including user guides, workflows, and data definitions.

What Success Looks Like...

In 3 months...

  • Develop a strong understanding of Bamboo Health's Controlled Substance products, customers, regulatory environment, and key datasets.
  • Independently use SQL and Tableau to answer customer and business questions and contribute product insights.
  • Build relationships with customers and stakeholders while contributing requirements and recommendations informed by data and feedback.
  • Begin leveraging AI-supported tools to improve research, documentation, and product execution.

In 6 months...

  • Become a trusted resource for Controlled Substance reporting, data, and customer workflows.
  • Independently lead discovery, customer conversations, and requirements gathering for product enhancements.

  • Consistently deliver high-quality requirements, documentation, and recommendations while maintaining an effective AI-enabled workflow.

In 12 months...

  • Be recognized as a subject matter expert in Controlled Substance reporting, data, customer workflows, and regulatory requirements.
  • Independently lead complex product initiatives from discovery through delivery, partnering effectively across customers, engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality requirements, documentation, and product recommendations that drive customer and business outcomes.
  • Proactively identify data quality issues, customer pain points, and product opportunities, making well-reasoned recommendations and driving solutions forward.
  • Leverage AI-supported tools and automation to improve the quality, efficiency, and scalability of your product work.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and creativity in designing solutions.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry such as healthcare, government, insurance, or financial services.
  • Experience working with healthcare, pharmacy, public health, claims, or controlled substance data.
  • Experience working with data governance frameworks, metadata management, data quality programs, reporting standards, or enterprise analytics initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Agile product development methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.

  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly master a complex, highly regulated domain and establish credibility as a subject matter expert with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Active, demonstrated use of AI-supported tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) to meaningfully accelerate product work - including research, drafting, analysis, and documentation.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly evolving environments.

  • The ability to travel periodically for work.

What You Get:

  • Join one of the most innovative healthcare technology companies in the country.
  • Have the autonomy to build something with an enthusiastically supportive team.
  • Build deep, rare expertise in a specialized and high-impact domain - controlled substance data that touches pharmacies, government agencies, and health systems across the country.
