Full Job Description
Overview

HireRight is looking for a motivated and curious Product Manager to join our product team in Nashville. In this individual contributor role, you will own a product area from strategy through execution, working closely with engineering, design, operations, and commercial teams to deliver high-quality solutions that make a real difference for our customers.

This is a great opportunity for a PM who is comfortable working across both existing product improvement and net-new product development, and who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Experience in background screening is not required, though familiarity with regulated industries or data-driven B2B products is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Define and own the product roadmap for your area, balancing near-term customer needs with longer-term strategic goals.
  • Write clear, well-reasoned product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that enable engineering teams to deliver with confidence.
  • Partner with engineering and design on discovery, solution design, and delivery, removing blockers and keeping work moving.
  • Engage directly with customers and internal stakeholders to uncover pain points, validate ideas, and gather feedback on shipped features.
  • Analyze product usage, operational data, and market signals to identify opportunities for improvement and prioritize accordingly.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer success to ensure smooth launches and ongoing product adoption.
  • Track key product metrics and report out on progress, learnings, and next steps to leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Contribute to a strong product culture by sharing insights, participating in team rituals, and helping raise the bar on how we work.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of product management experience, with demonstrated ownership of a product or feature area end-to-end.
  • Strong ability to translate ambiguous problems into structured solutions, with a track record of shipping meaningful product improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to align stakeholders and articulate trade-offs clearly.
  • Comfort working with data to inform decisions — you don’t need to be a data scientist, but you know how to ask the right questions and interpret the answers.
  • Experience working in cross-functional agile environments alongside engineering and design.
  • A customer-first mindset: you regularly seek out user feedback and let it shape your thinking.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, data products, or regulated industries (HR tech, fintech, legal tech, compliance, etc.).
  • Familiarity with background screening, employment verification, or related HR/people operations workflows.
  • Exposure to API-driven products or platform-level thinking.
  • Experience using analytics tools (e.g., Looker, Amplitude, Tableau, SQL) to self-serve on product questions.
  • Comfort operating in a maturing product organization where process is still being built.
