Full Job Description
Location: This is a hybrid role. Our hubs are Portland, New York City, Boise, and Bozeman.
Reports to: CPO
Compensation: $190,000-$210,000 base salary, plus equity

The role

We're hiring a product manager to help shape what we build and make sure it solves meaningful problems for our customers.

You'll work across the full product process: understanding customers, deciding which problems matter most, turning those problems into clear plans, and working with design and engineering to get useful products into customers' hands.

The product itself presents an unusual product challenge. Some customers work directly in GetWhys to build and manage their company's buyer intelligence. Many users instead encounter that intelligence inside tools they already use, such as Claude and Slack.

You'll help us decide how those experiences fit together and where GetWhys can create the most value.

We're a highly autonomous team. We move quickly, make judgment calls with incomplete information, and don't have a mature product process yet. We're looking for someone who likes that stage: a hands-on product manager who can make good decisions, bring clarity to ambiguous work, and introduce just enough structure to help the whole team get better.

What you'll do
  • Work directly with the founding team
  • Build a deep understanding of our customers, their work, and the problems they need us to solve
  • Work closely with design and engineering to decide what we build and why
  • Turn ambiguous opportunities into clear problems, priorities, requirements, and measures of success
  • Own product work from early discovery through launch, adoption, and iteration
  • Help shape the product roadmap while making thoughtful tradeoffs about what we should-and should not-pursue
  • Connect customer feedback, company strategy, product data, and technical realities to make sound decisions
  • Make sure design and engineering have the context and answers they need to keep moving
  • Communicate decisions clearly, including the reasoning and evidence behind them
  • Work with go-to-market teams to launch products, learn from customers, and improve adoption
  • Help establish practical product practices without slowing the team down

Who you are
  • You are passionate about something outside of work. We believe everyone works best when they have multiple interests
  • You have around five or more years of product management experience
  • You have experience building complex software, workflows, or systems-not just shipping isolated features
  • You're comfortable talking directly with customers and turning what you learn into product decisions
  • You can turn ambiguous problems into clear priorities and actionable plans
  • You know how to give design and engineering useful context without prescribing every detail of the solution
  • You're okay being wrong. An imperfect decision early or on time is better than the right decision too late
  • You want to work with an extremely high-performing team
  • You have experience with AI products or tools and understand both their potential and their limitations
  • You demonstrate strong judgment and the confidence to advocate for your point of view
  • You enjoy a collaborative working style: you can push back, explain why, and change your mind when the evidence calls for it
  • You can communicate clearly with customers, teammates, and company leaders
  • You're comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment

Experience as an early product hire at a startup is a plus.

This is probably a particularly good fit if you enjoy doing the work yourself and want meaningful influence over both the product and how a company approaches product management.

Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (90% of your deductible, 75% of your dependents')
  • 401(k) with a 3% company match
  • Unlimited PTO, with an expected minimum of 10 business days each year
  • 18 company holidays
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • A permanently remote-friendly workplace with no required number of office days (though if you live in a hub, we hope you'll join us in person sometimes!)
  • Regular team and company-wide in-person gatherings
  • Meaningful equity and the opportunity to shape product at a growing company
