Job Title: Product Manager - Data Governance

Area: IT

Reports to: Director, Data Management

Classification: Exempt

Location: Evanston, IL

This position is designated as Hybrid - Fixed Days and will regularly work in the office an average of 3+ days a week - with a set schedule. Managers may require team members to work on the same schedule to encourage collaboration. Rotary is under the jurisdiction of Illinois employment laws; we require all employees to live within reasonable daily commuting distance to Evanston.

Position Overview

The Product Manager - Data Governance reports to the Director - Data Management and is primarily responsible for Rotary's Data Governance program and customer relationship management (CRM) system. This role manages the CRM system, data governance, data quality, data rules, and data dictionary, and works closely with the Product Manager - Data Platforms & Business Intelligence to provide input on defining the data platform and architecture needs for our overall data requirements.

You Will Have
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data business, information technology, or related field. MBA or master's degree is a plus.
  • At least 7 years of product management experience with master data management, data governance, data quality and CRM (i.e., NetForum, Salesforce, etc.).
  • Experience with product management lifecycle, preferably Agile and/or SAFe.
  • Proven experience as a strong cross-group collaborator and team player, dealing with complex problems, resolving conflicts, and experience influencing cross-functionality, and with executive-level audiences.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through both analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team to achieve results, focusing on the positive, regardless of the obstacles.
  • Ability to work independently and well under pressure and perform multiple concurrent and diversified tasks effectively.

You Will Be Responsible For
  • Managing a product owner and team of offshore development and quality assurance engineers.
  • Owning the process for defining and promoting Rotary's CRM and data quality strategy.
  • Coordinating and prioritizing the delivery of requested improvements and functionality to Rotary's CRM and data quality.
  • Defining and documenting the current and future state of Rotary's CRM and data quality roadmaps, and action plans.
  • Working closely with the Product Manager - Data Platforms & Business Intelligence, assist with defining the needs for enterprise data platforms, architecture, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Developing enterprise data management policies, including such things as data stewardship, data governance, audit requirements and service level agreements (SLAs) to support the quality and use of information.
  • Provide guidance on prioritizing the product backlog; ensure it is transparent, visible, and understood.
  • Processing and analyzing feedback from stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with IT to assist decision-making and sequencing of critical technology enablers.
  • Ensuring ongoing collaboration with other product development teams to align work and proactively manage cross-team dependencies.

$135,000 - $150,000
