Product Manager - Cloud Database & AI Innovation

Location: Redwood Shores, CA (Preferred)

Oracle Database Cloud Services is one of the most widely adopted services within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), powering mission-critical applications for customers around the world. We are looking for an early-career Product Manager who is passionate about technology, customer success, and innovation in cloud, data, and AI.

This role is ideal for someone with a technical background-such as software engineering, development, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or a related field-who is interested in building a career in product management. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced product leaders and engineering teams while helping shape the future of Oracle's cloud database services.

As a Product Manager, you'll help define product requirements, gather customer feedback, analyze market trends, prioritize features, and support product launches. You'll work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and customers to bring innovative cloud and AI-powered capabilities to market.

What You'll Do

Product Strategy & Execution
  • Partner with senior product managers and engineering teams to help define product requirements and roadmap priorities.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback, market trends, and competitive insights.
  • Help translate customer and business needs into product features and enhancements.
  • Participate in feature planning, prioritization, and release activities.
  • Support the creation of product documentation, FAQs, presentations, and launch materials.
  • Advocate for customer needs throughout the product development lifecycle.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineering teams to understand technical solutions and product capabilities.
  • Collaborate with sales, support, and marketing teams to ensure successful product adoption.
  • Participate in customer meetings to gather feedback and understand real-world use cases.
  • Help coordinate activities across globally distributed teams.

Go-To-Market Support
  • Assist with product launches and customer-facing communications.
  • Contribute to blogs, presentations, demos, datasheets, and training materials.
  • Support customer reference programs and success stories.
  • Help communicate product value both internally and externally.

Market & Customer Research
  • Research industry trends in cloud, databases, data platforms, and AI technologies.
  • Analyze competitor offerings and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Monitor customer adoption and usage patterns to help inform product decisions.


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in Product Management, Software Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, Technical Program Management, or a related technical role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Strong interest in product management and building customer-focused technology solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to cloud technologies, databases, data platforms, analytics, or AI/ML technologies.
  • Experience gathering requirements and working with engineering teams on technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with product development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
  • Experience interacting with customers or internal stakeholders to understand business needs.
  • Knowledge of database architecture, data management concepts, or cloud infrastructure is a plus, but not required.
  • Prior experience creating technical documentation, presentations, or training materials is beneficial.

Product Analysis - Market Analysis:
-Contributes to evaluating business value, feasibility, and internal and/or external user needs of products/features.
-Collaborates with team members to obtain alignment between the customer, the market, and Oracle's goals and strategy.
-Conducts analysis of market trends and the competitive landscape to support competitive positioning.
-Assists in engaging customers, non-customers, and partners to obtain market information and discover opportunities.
Product Analysis - Solution Identification:
-Contributes to identifying customers' unmet or unknown needs, market opportunities for products, and/or regulatory requirements.
-Begins developing problem statements for products with low to moderate complexity and forming hypotheses for new products.
-Supports the solutioning process by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify solutions.
-Assists with evaluating and validating different solutions to make informed decisions on enhancing existing products/features or introducing new products/features.
-Creates and maintains required solution artifacts (e.g., regulatory requirements, functional and non-functional requirements), with oversight.
Product Ownership - Product Development and Road mapping:
-Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support product lifecycle activities.
-Shares responsibility with senior team members for the roadmap of assigned products/features.
-Helps develop feature requirements, resources, and best practices for internal stakeholders.
-Works with senior team members to resolve risks and issues that may impact projects.
-Assists in tracking and analyzing existing metrics (e.g., Service Requests, bugs raised, customer feedback, customer volumes) to inform optimization efforts.
-Follows guidance to write user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure product quality.
-Provides input on features or experiences to prioritize in the roadmap to support success criteria and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
Product Ownership - Product Leadership and Influence:
-Contributes to the overall strategy and direction of assigned products.
-Tracks the development of products to enhance the customer experience and align with business goals.
-Supports team efforts to drive new feature development using agile and continuous-delivery methodology.
Alignment and Collaboration:
-Collaborates with cross-functional partners and facilitates alignment across teams within the department.
-Follows guidelines to address pushback from stakeholders.
-Partners with senior team members to develop potential solutions aligned with OKRs and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
-Collaborates with teams within the department to track success criteria and performance metrics (e.g., OKRs, KPIs) for assigned products/features.
-Contributes to determining parameters for user testing.
Customer-Centricity:
-Advocates for the customer throughout the product lifecycle, with supervision.
-Collaborates with team to engage customers and gather feedback about their experiences with Oracle's products and services.
-Collaborates with team to align Oracle product capabilities with customers' business goals.
-Contributes to capturing customer requirements to define new product capabilities and develop feature designs.
-Supports and engages with product consumers during implementations, with oversight.
-Assists senior team members to review and prioritize customer issues to ensure satisfaction and quality.
Product Release - Go-to-Market:
-Assists in developing release overview, field presentations, and demos for the field team.
-Aids in recruiting and supporting early adopters to validate product solutions, with guidance.
-Participates in the development of user documentation, with oversight.
-Assists with tracking product metrics about adoption.
-Attends product demonstrations to internal and/or external customers, partners, industry analysts, and field.

Qualifications

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $62,000 to $148,300 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
