The Business Analyst will support due diligence, portfolio monitoring, and investment analysis by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of land, mineral, and royalty data. This role bridges technical data management and business decision-making - combining analytical skills with cross-functional collaboration across geoscience, legal, finance, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, validate, and integrate land, lease, title, deed, mineral, and royalty ownership data into internal databases, GIS, and land systems.
- Lead and/or support data analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation efforts across cross-functional teams to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
- Translate complex business needs into analytical requirements, process documentation, and actionable insights.
- Support data mapping, reporting, KPI development, and data quality initiatives across systems and workflows.
- Partner with business, IT, and vendor teams to drive alignment, testing, implementation, and continuou improvement.
- Operate independently, providing strong coordination, follow-through, insight and status updates across multipl priorities.
Requirements- Proven experience supporting business, data, or operational workflows in a complex organization.
- Strong proficiency in Excel for data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and reporting involving large or complex datasets.
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying, validating, and analyzing structured data and Master Data Management.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new business domains, systems, and content structures to support cross functional needs.
- Experience documenting business processes, requirements, data definitions, and workflow logic in a clear structured, and reusable manner (e.g., process maps, workflow diagrams).
- Ability to translate complex, ambiguous, or evolving business needs into actionable requirements and operational solutions.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, including business teams and IT.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and adapt effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Ability to draft clear, professional stakeholder communications, including project updates, process guidance, and status summaries.
- Proven ability to create, maintain, and share documentation, business context, and process knowledge to support stakeholder alignment and team effectiveness.
