Overview

Principal Group Product Manager leads Microsoft's enterprise endpoint strategy and portfolio, spanning physical devices, mobile and virtual endpoints, management platforms, security capabilities, and AI-enabled experiences. This role is responsible for defining strategy, driving cross-functional alignment, and delivering business outcomes across the device lifecycle, including acquisition, deployment, management, security, optimization, and retirement.

Operating as Microsoft's Customer Zero for endpoint technologies, this leader partners across Microsoft Digital, Windows, Intune, Entra, Defender, Surface, Windows 365, Dev Box, Security, Engineering, and strategic partners to evaluate emerging technologies, inform product direction, and develop enterprise deployment practices.

The role leads teams responsible for endpoint experiences, lifecycle services, device strategy, platform governance, and innovation. Success in this role requires balancing product strategy, platform operations, security, and organizational leadership to deliver secure, scalable, and productive technology experiences for employees worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the vision, strategy, operating model, and investment priorities for Microsoft's enterprise endpoint ecosystem, including physical, mobile, cloud, and virtual endpoints, endpoint management platforms, security capabilities, and AI-enabled employee experiences.
  • Own the roadmap, lifecycle strategy, success measures, and business outcomes for endpoint services supporting Microsoft employees and vendors globally across Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Windows 365, Microsoft Dev Box, and future endpoint platforms.
  • Lead teams responsible for endpoint strategy, lifecycle services, platform governance, innovation, and Customer Zero programs, including organizational planning, execution, talent development, and accountability for results.
  • Drive the end-to-end endpoint lifecycle, including device standards, acquisition, provisioning, onboarding, management, optimization, refresh, recovery, and retirement.
  • Serve as Microsoft's Customer Zero leader for endpoint technologies, using enterprise-scale deployments, operational insights, employee feedback, and telemetry to validate emerging capabilities, improve deployment guidance, and influence product roadmaps.
  • Partner across Windows, Intune, Entra, Defender, Surface, Windows 365, Dev Box, Microsoft 365, and Security to improve enterprise readiness, influence platform investments, and shape product direction.
  • Define and advance secure-by-default endpoint outcomes in partnership with security, identity, privacy, compliance, and risk teams, including Zero Trust, vulnerability management, identity protection, device trust, least-privilege access, and data protection initiatives.
  • Lead strategy and adoption of AI-enabled endpoint experiences, including Copilot+ PCs, automation capabilities, and agentic workflows that improve productivity, service delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • Establish and monitor business, operational, security, and employee experience metrics, leveraging telemetry and experimentation to improve reliability, adoption, productivity, and user satisfaction.
  • Partner with OEMs, hardware manufacturers, cloud providers, and ecosystem partners to define device standards, lifecycle requirements, and future platform direction, while working with procurement, finance, supply chain, and operations teams to optimize investments, sustainability goals, and portfolio economics.
  • Build alignment across engineering, security, finance, procurement, HR, legal, accessibility, support, and executive stakeholders, and develop business reviews, strategic plans, investment proposals, and executive communications that connect technology strategy to business outcomes.

  • 6+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).
  • 8+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
  • 8+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g.,. competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
  • Experience with Microsoft endpoint and workplace technologies, including Windows, Intune, Entra, Microsoft Defender, Autopilot, Windows 365, Microsoft Dev Box, and related platforms.
  • Experience leading endpoint management, digital workplace, enterprise productivity, infrastructure, or platform organizations.
  • Experience defining and implementing enterprise-scale device management, security, compliance, and Zero Trust strategies.
  • Experience with AI-enabled technologies, automation platforms, and employee productivity solutions.
  • Experience influencing product direction through partnerships with engineering teams, vendors, and strategic ecosystem partners.
  • Knowledge of device lifecycle management, procurement, asset management, and related operational processes.
  • Experience leading and developing teams, building organizational capability, and driving cross-functional execution.
  • Experience developing strategy, business cases, investment proposals, and recommendations for senior leaders.
  • Experience defining strategy and delivering measurable outcomes across large-scale technology portfolios and globally distributed environments.
  • Ability to translate business, employee, security, and operational needs into product strategies, roadmaps, and investment decisions.
  • Experience building alignment across organizations and leading complex initiatives involving engineering, security, operations, finance, procurement, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience using customer feedback, telemetry, experimentation, and operational data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.


Product Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $165,600 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
