Full Job Description
Position Description: The Product Manager will lead and oversee the development, implementation, and management of computing platform strategies and product management plans for Voyager's Products team. This role is responsible for guiding products through their lifecycle and managing continual market release and support services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the space industry, a clear understanding of current product management practices, and a demonstrated track record of successful product improvement and strategy implementation. The PLM will report to Voyager's VP of Product Development.

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Development
  • Develop and implement the product strategy for Voyager's computing portfolio, including processing, control, and data storage products
  • Develop comprehensive product roadmaps, prioritizing features and functionalities based on customer needs and market trends, driving consistent product innovation
  • Oversee product development and improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Support Proposal and Business Development teams by providing innovative and cost-effective technical solutions to win new business
  • Engage with program teams to translate execution challenges into actionable product insights that inform roadmap decisions and drive portfolio relevance

Technical Expertise
  • Provide computing product design solutions based on aerospace & defense industry experience and knowledge of customer needs
  • Oversee development of computing requirements, computing architecture, design solutions considering cost/schedule/technical objectives, industry standards, customer & market needs
  • Implement DfX methodologies, including Design for Manufacturing, Design for Test and Design for Cost, to achieve cost-effective computing product solutions

Market Analysis and Research
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define and prioritize product initiatives
  • Monitor and analyze market and industry trends to ensure the company remains competitive
  • Develop and maintain commercial pricing for computing products
  • Collaborate with Business Development to estimate product market demand

Customer Feedback Integration
  • Gather customer feedback through surveys, focus groups, and support channels, incorporating critical insights into product iterations to enhance user experience and customer satisfaction

Innovation and Improvement
  • Identify and assess opportunities for product innovation based on technology advancements and industry trends
  • Assess and implement configuration changes across compute products, ensuring they are strategically aligned with market trends, customer needs, and competitive advancements to maintain product relevance, desirability, and long-term success

Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure product performance and initiatives align with business objectives
  • Communicate product strategy and progress to internal stakeholders
  • Foster strong relationships with customers, partners, and other external stakeholders

Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in the development of embedded computing products, such as single board computers, personality modules, video processors, power supplies, etc. Must be familiar with modern embedded processors such as ARM, PowerPC, and FPGA
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in product development / management roles, with at least 5 years in the space & defense industry
  • Prior experience developing space & defense computing products, including flight computers, mission/payload processing systems, storage devices
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in engineering, systems engineering, or science required
  • Deep understanding of the space and defense market, including industry trends and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in product management, hardware and software development methodologies
  • Experience with market analysis and competitive analysis
  • Ability to obtain security clearance


The good-faith base salary range for this role is $175,000-$225,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
