About the roleThe Rippling Platform team is responsible for the products and frameworks that showcase the value of seamlessly integrating HR, IT, Finance, and third-party applications together into one unified platform. Rippling's permissions platform is the authorization layer for the entire product - it controls who can see what data and take what actions across HR, IT, and Finance. Every Rippling product depends on it. You'll own the vision and execution for this system, defining the authorization primitives that product teams across Rippling build on, shaping how permissions work with Rippling's AI features, and designing experiences that make complex access control simple to configure.
What you will do- You will own the element of the Rippling Platform that is core to our strategy: permissions & authorization
- You will own the customer experience for creating and managing access policies that will dynamically grant users with the correct level of data and application access... with the desired scope
- You will deeply understand the permission needs of Rippling applications, leading the vision and execution of platform building blocks that serve a wide array of Rippling products
- You'll be eager to roll up your sleeves and dig into the technical details while obsessing over a simple, intuitive customer experience
- You'll work cross-functionally - across product, engineering, design, marketing, and customer-facing functions - to design an extensible system that can meet the evolving needs of Rippling product teams and our customers
- You will shape how permissions work with Rippling's AI capabilities, ensuring AI-powered features respect authorization boundaries by design
Qualifications- 8+ years of Product Management experience with a software engineering background
- Experience owning or building permissions or authorization systems - RBAC, ABAC, fine-grained access controls
- Experience scaling platform building blocks across a large product surface area
- Deep technical, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Self-starter with a bias towards action and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional interpersonal communication & organizational skills
- Strong ability to motivate and inspire people to do their best work
- Relentlessly focused on customers' needs
- Strong alignment with Rippling's leadership principles, particularly 'Go and see', 'Are right, a lot', and 'Go to Western Union'

The pay range for this role is:
174,000 - 304,500 USD per year (US Tier 1)
