Summary of PositionVirtual care delivery is only as good as the workflows behind it. When a care team can't find a provider, when a scheduling gap turns into a missed visit, when documentation friction slows a clinical decision - patients feel it. At Teladoc Health, we're building the operational foundation that makes care work at scale, and we're looking for a Product Lead who wants to own it.
This role sits at the intersection of clinical operations, engineering, and care delivery. You will define the vision, strategy, and execution for clinical optimization capabilities - scheduling, provider availability, workforce optimization, and EMR-enabled workflows - across our virtual care platform. The work you ship will shape how thousands of providers and care team members do their jobs every day, and how millions of members access the care they need.
This is not a feature-factory role. We are looking for a product leader who takes mission seriously, moves with urgency, and is just as comfortable talking to a care team coordinator about workflow pain as they are reviewing an API integration spec with an engineering lead. You will partner closely with engineering, clinical operations, informatics, data, design, and external partners to define solutions that are clinically grounded, operationally scalable, and built to last. You will bring an AI-forward mindset - not as a talking point, but as a tool you actively use to move faster and build smarter.
The right person will consistently ask:
- What problem are we actually solving, and does it matter enough to work on?
- How will we know if we succeeded - and what does the data say?
- What does this workflow look like for the person doing it twelve times a day?
- How do we build this so it scales, not just ships?
The problems here are genuinely hard. You're not optimizing a checkout flow - you're building the infrastructure that determines whether a provider can see a patient today, whether a care coordinator has the information they need in the moment, whether a member in a health crisis gets routed to the right person fast. That is not a market. It is a responsibility. If you want a role where your product decisions have real clinical stakes, where operational excellence directly translates to better patient experiences, and where you're building something that matters at scale - this is it.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for clinical optimization across scheduling, provider availability, workforce management, and EMR-enabled workflows - driving outcomes, not just output.
- Lead 01 discovery and execution for new capabilities that scale across clinical specialties and provider types (W2 and 1099).
- Define the metrics that matter, instrument them, and drive improvement - engagement, efficiency, clinical throughput, and operational performance.
- Build and run a high-velocity experimentation mindset: form hypotheses, test quickly, read results honestly, and compound learnings into the roadmap.
- Translate complex clinical and operational workflows into clear product requirements, success metrics, and platform capabilities that engineering and design can build against.
- Drive integrations across EMR/EHR and non-EMR platforms - FHIR/HL7, SMART APIs, data exchange, workflow handoffs, and operational tooling.
- Bring a strong point of view on how AI and automation reduce manual work, improve decision-making, and simplify care delivery - and put it to work in how you build.
- Influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders through clear storytelling, structured tradeoff discussions, and data-backed recommendations.
- Ensure every solution is clinically appropriate, operationally scalable, and aligned with both business goals and patient impact.
The time spent on each responsibility reflects an estimate and is subject to change dependent on business needs.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNo
Qualifications Expected for Position- 10+ years of product management experience in healthcare, digital health, enterprise SaaS, or regulated environments.
- Meaningful experience building or scaling products across complex, multi-platform workflows - scheduling, provider operations, care delivery, workforce optimization, or capacity management.
- Fluency with API-based integrations, platform interoperability, cross-system workflows, and technical tradeoff discussions - you don't need to write the code, but you need to understand the constraints.
- Demonstrated success leading highly cross-functional initiatives involving multiple engineering teams, clinical stakeholders, operational partners, and executive stakeholders across complex organizations.
- Strong data instincts: you define the right metrics, work with complex datasets, and communicate findings credibly across clinical and operational audiences.
Demonstrated experience leveraging AI, automation, or analytics to improve product execution, operational efficiency, or user workflows.
Founder mentality: you own the outcome, not just the workstream, and push through ambiguity without waiting for permission.
Bonus Qualifications - Background working directly with EMR/EHR platforms (Athena, Epic, or equivalent) and clinical operations teams.
- Experience with FHIR/HL7, SMART on FHIR, or healthcare interoperability standards.
- Proven ability to drive 01 product initiatives from ambiguous problem spaces through launch, adoption, and measurable impact.
- Deep empathy for care teams - the friction in their workflows shows up in your product decisions.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with high ambiguity, evolving priorities, and complex cross-functional dependencies.
