Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing or hardware design.
  • 3 years of experience in people management.
  • Experience in Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) and related system assembly.
  • Experience in design for manufacturability and serviceability.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 15 years of experience at a company developing hardware products in an extended workforce supply chain (CM and JDM products).
  • Experience working with ODMs, contract manufacturers and component suppliers for data center server products (especially ARM servers).
  • Experience in scaled manufacturing, including manufacturing process and line design, bring up and optimization, driving root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous process improvements.
  • Experience in bring-up or bench testing hardware in a lab environment.

As the Compute and Storage Product Engineer Lead, you will sit at the epicenter of Google's AI infrastructure ambitions, bridging the gap between hardware design and high-volume global manufacturing. Our team is responsible for ensuring next-generation ARM Compute and Storage hardware is manufacturable, testable, and reliable at scale. By driving Design for Excellence (DFx), developing robust test strategies, and solving complex production challenges, we directly enable the expansion of Google's infrastructure.

As the Product Engineering Lead, you will guide a talented team of Product Engineers managing our portfolio of ARM compute and storage products. Serving as the technical lead for the Supply Chain NPI teams, you will act as the direct counterpart to the Hardware Engineering TL. You will build and optimize capital efficiency, minimize waste, and accelerate the deployment of the hardware powering Google's AI future.

Your team is accountable for delivering a working product, ensuring factory readiness, establishing product quality at General Availability (GA), and mitigating technical risks. You will drive DFx, develop test strategies, execute NPI builds, improve factory yields, and manage manufacturing fallout and interdependencies.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the NPI Operations Technical Lead, driving reviews between Design and Operations to deliver key manufacturing plans, test strategies, and DFx.
  • Provide pre-production build support, manage line bring-up, deliver product debug training, and lead yield-bridge analysis to optimize quality.
  • Evaluate new product technology, collaborating with Engineering and NPI Operations to influence design, highlight risks, and build mitigation plans.
  • Partner with Quality/Reliability Engineers to set yield goals, validate qualification plans, and lead cross-functional resolutions for component quality excursions.
  • Manage second-source part qualifications and coordinate Bill of Materials (BOM) updates to ensure continuous production.


Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $171000 - $247000 (USD) 20% bonus target equity benefits
