Role Overview: FastPace is the initial strategic platform within a broader portfolio of decision systems supporting commercial decision-making and account prioritization. It integrates multiple data sources, scoring methodologies, and visualization layers - including emerging Copilot capabilities - to provide a consistent, explainable view of which opportunities matter most - and why.
IQVIA is seeking an experienced Product & Engineering Lead to take end-to-end ownership of FastPace as the first core platform, with scope to expand across additional decision systems over time. This role operates within a small, dedicated team focused on Analytics, Technology, and Innovation Enablement, and sits at the intersection of product management, advanced analytics, and engineering.
The position combines clear product ownership responsibilities with a hands-on approach to data, analytical logic, and platform delivery. Priorities are shaped in close alignment with commercial stakeholders and governance structures, while the role is accountable for ensuring that the platform - and future systems - evolves in a coherent, scalable, and reliable way.
Working closely with the Governance, Enablement & Operations Lead, who ensures the platform is trusted, adopted, and operationally sound, this role focuses on the analytical logic, technical delivery, and product evolution that underpin the system.
A key aspect of the role is maintaining the credibility and trustworthiness of the underlying analytics. This means not only building and refining scoring logic, but being able to challenge, defend, and explain it in commercial and executive contexts.
While the role is initially focused on FastPace, it is expected to evolve to cover additional products and decision systems within the broader Analytics, Technology, and Innovation Enablement portfolio.
Key Responsibilities: The Product & Engineering Lead is accountable for ensuring that FastPace, and over time additional platforms, operate as reliable, scalable, and trusted decision systems across the full stack: data, model, dashboard, and decision use.
This includes:
- Owning the product roadmap, backlog, and release cadence, ensuring alignment with business priorities, governance structures, and steering committee direction
- Translating stakeholder needs into clear, prioritized product enhancements across data pipelines, scoring logic, visualization layers, and Copilot capabilities
- Maintaining and evolving scoring and prioritization methodologies - including rule-based frameworks and predictive modeling approaches - ensuring consistency, transparency, and robustness
- Ensuring end-to-end platform integrity, from data ingestion and validation through transformation logic to dashboard delivery - including monitoring data refresh cycles and resolving pipeline failures
- Owning dashboard performance and usability, ensuring that visualizations are clear, decision-oriented, and optimized for the user experience
- Driving continuous improvement in how insights are communicated and applied within commercial workflows, translating technical outputs into decision narratives for leadership and commercial forums
- Supporting the controlled expansion of the platform across additional therapy areas, use cases, and future products
How the Role Operates: The function operates through a lean, execution-focused team, initially centered on FastPace, where product, analytics, and engineering responsibilities are closely integrated.
In this environment, the role requires:
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes across the full platform - not just individual components
- The ability to operate across functional boundaries, from data pipelines and scoring logic through to dashboard delivery and stakeholder communication
- The capacity to diagnose and resolve issues across layers, understanding root causes rather than applying surface-level fixes
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset in identifying and addressing opportunities or issues
- The ability to balance structured prioritization with pragmatic delivery
The expectation is to contribute both strategically and operationally, working closely with stakeholders while remaining directly engaged in the underlying data, logic, and outputs.
What We Value Most: We are looking for individuals who combine analytical depth with product ownership and practical execution.
We particularly value:
- A strong foundation in quantitative analysis, statistical modeling, or data science - including experience with scoring methodologies, predictive modeling, and rule-based analytics frameworks - with the ability to build, refine, and defend structured decision frameworks
- Experience translating analytical or AI/ML-based approaches into clear, scalable products used in real decision-making contexts, connecting analytical rigour to commercial impact
- The ability to ensure outputs are robust, explainable, and trusted, including experience with data validation and quality assurance frameworks, especially in environments where decisions need to be justified and understood
- Familiarity with data visualization and BI tooling (e.g. Power BI), including semantic model design, dashboard performance optimization, and user-centric visual communication
- Commercial acumen: an understanding of business development workflows and account prioritization, with the ability to align platform evolution to revenue impact
Within a lean team, these capabilities are complemented by a hands-on approach, with individuals expected to work directly in the data, logic, and tooling when needed.
Technical & Analytical Expertise: This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical capability across multiple layers of the platform.
Candidates should have:
- Proven experience working with Python for data processing, analysis, pipeline development, and implementation of analytical or scoring logic
- Strong SQL skills for data exploration, transformation, validation, and troubleshooting across large and complex datasets
- Experience applying advanced analytics or data science methods - scoring models, predictive approaches, rule-based frameworks - in a business or product context
- Familiarity with data pipeline and ETL workflows, including multi-source data integration, refresh dependencies, and failure-point awareness
- Experience with Power BI or equivalent visualization platforms, including semantic model design and dashboard performance optimization
The role requires the ability to engage directly with the underlying logic, data, and delivery tooling - not solely to manage or oversee delivery.
What Success Looks Like: Success in this role is reflected in a platform that:
- Is consistently adopted as a standard input into account planning and commercial prioritization
- Produces outputs that are clear, credible, and actionable, with minimal scoring discrepancies or stakeholder challenges
- Operates with high reliability and data accuracy, maintaining strong uptime and data refresh integrity
- Evolves in a structured and stakeholder-aligned manner, with roadmap milestones delivered on schedule
- Delivers a dashboard experience that is performant, intuitive, and valued by its users
Over time, FastPace - and subsequent platforms - become standard inputs into decision-making, enabling more consistent and confident prioritization across the organization.
Why Join IQVIA: At IQVIA, you will work at the forefront of data, analytics, and technology in life sciences, helping shape how organizations use data to drive better decisions and outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to:
- Own and evolve a high-impact analytics platform used in real decision-making
- Work within a collaborative, cross-functional environment spanning analytics, technology, and commercial teams
- Contribute to the development of robust, explainable, and scalable approaches to decision-making
