Job DescriptionPrimary focus: Jobsite support of Sika products for customers who install as well as Sika field personnel to meet typical construction project specification requirements. Secondary focus: Product training, mockups, application troubleshooting, inspections to ensure successful applications of Sika products and to provide thorough written reports documenting activity.
- Support the Director, Product Engineering in all aspects of administration
- Support the VP, Technical Services & Product Engineering with special projects as required
- Assist the Manager, Product Approvals & Certifications in obtaining product approvals (i.e. new product submissions; renewals/recertifications) [nationwide DOT's and other agencies as required]
- Jobsite visits as required (daytime/overnight/occasional weekends, holidays) per project specification requirements / customer requests
- Work with local Project Representatives to manage site mockups as required
- Determine best methods to support contractors on site using and installing our products
- Troubleshoot and investigate reported problems in the field (during installation or after project completion) as required
- Periodic inspections as needed (based on product type) to ensure proper installation
- Participate in site meetings with the applicator, Sika Project Rep, the consultant, and others
- Provide written reports with photographs documenting site visits (scope, agreed to actions, etc.)
- Assist in building an industry-leading training program to raise the quality of work completed in the field using our products
- Train applicators to ensure proper and efficient installation of Sika products (i.e. Infrastructure business unit; Buildings & Parking business unit; Energy & Industrial business unit)
- Contribute to programs that evaluate new products to improve our knowledge and understanding of their limitations and advantages to reduce risk ahead of product launch
- Provide phone support to answer technical questions on the use of products
- Participate in and lead Sika involvement with various industries such as AASHTO, ICRI, ACI, SWR Institute, etc.
- Review of new and revised literature for technical accuracy
- Frequent travel is required
Qualifications- College degree preferred (BS Engineering or Technical field of study)
- 3 to 5 years minimum experience in construction
- Must have excellent organization and interpersonal skills
- AutoCAD capability re: the creation of &/or editing of Construction Details
- Strong customer focus
- Ability to work 'hands-on' with Sika products
- Ability to work in a team environment
