Product Engineer III:Develop motors and related products satisfying customer requirements with little or no supervision. Develop designs in conjunction with Operations, Quality, Procurement, and Marketing, with special regards to cost and manufacturing capabilities. Assist R&D efforts to improve motor understanding and interaction in final product. Assist in problem solving application challenges.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:- Provides motors to meet customer expectations
- Provides expert technical advice on motors/components to customers, suppliers, and internal personnel
- Establishes design parameters, component and process specifications, and technical approach to product development
- Leads development of office, manufacturing, or information flow processes to improve quality, cost, speed, or product performance
- Develops simulation tools to design and troubleshoot electric motors and electric motor applications
- Designs and executes advanced test procedures to test motor or motor application theories
- Postulates advanced motor theory and writes technical papers to document efforts
- Leads or supports New Product Development projects
- Performs other duties such as:
- Writes/Reviews Engineering Change Orders
- Conducts special tests or trials at customer/supplier locations
- Conducts competitive analysis
- Conducts field failure analysis
Supervisory Responsibilities: May supervise or coordinate the work of technicians or new engineering graduates and others who assist in specific assignments. Assists in the training of and may supervise new engineers and interns/co-ops.
Education and Experience:Education: Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering, required, or previous related experiences. Master of Engineering optional.
Experience:5-8 years of product design experience as acquired during the progression through Application Engineer position or as determined by the hiring manager and H. R. Department.
Skills: Knowledge of manufacturing principles and customer applications; motor theory; problem solving skills, good communication and Interpersonal skills; Microsoft Office; Motor design programs; Perfect Execution/Lean Principles
