Overview

Work in a cross-functional team of nonwoven material developers and engineers to deliver on agreed milestones for new product development projects.

Responsibilities

· Work in a cross-functional team of nonwoven material developers and engineers to deliver on agreed milestones for new product development projects.

· Ensure design, development, and introduction of new and improved products with higher value to consumer products.

· Develop new products as defined by management, utilizing technology road maps, functional plans and other resources.

· Deliver on project objectives in the initiation, design, development, and optimization of Nonwoven Fabrics/Laminates after receiving functional guidance.

· Plan, conduct, coordinate and supervise lab and pilot studies with minimal supervision.

· Lead product scale up and line trials and writes trial reports.

· Develop and build laboratory capabilities for applications development.

· Research all available raw materials which could lead to improved products and profitability.

· Market analysis, cost comparisons/evaluations, competitor product and process assessment.

· Develop and maintain an expert level knowledge of spunlace and other related nonwoven technologies and high-performance nonwovens and wipes supply chain.

· Ensure protection of technologies, processes, materials, and products through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets.

· Set priorities and keep momentum going on a mixed project portfolio including new products, raw materials, cost-out programs, technology platforms, and project timelines.

· Respond quickly to shifting priorities without losing sight of longer-range strategic projects and goals.

Qualifications

· At a minimum, either: a U.S. Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering or a related science/engineering field, or the foreign degree equivalent and 2 years' experience in the job offered or a related occupation, OR, a U.S. Master's degree in Textile Engineering or a related science/engineering field, or the foreign degree equivalent.

· Experience working in a laboratory or engineering role with natural and synthetic fibers finishes for non-wovens or textile developments.

· Experience with lamination, embossing, calendering, and other converting processes.

· Experience with Stage-Gate Process, Statistical Data Analysis, and Design of Experiments.

· Experience with Products, Materials, and Federal regulations associated with surgical and infection prevention, primarily masks and facial protection.
