DUTIES: Execute the product development process for the Ogio and Callaway product lines, focused on Golf Bags for Callaway Performance Gear, OGIO and Tour / SMU bags. Draw on experience with sporting goods factories and knowledge of product development process to work with Design team from product Brief and take product from tech pack stage through sampling and into finished product at the manufacturer. Ensure that intended design, aesthetics, quality, delivery schedule and target cost and margin objectives have been achieved. Responsible for end-to-end process for Golf Bag product lines, from brief hand off through production, to Warehouse delivery. Transform accessory design from tech pack stage to final, approved product using knowledge of vendor resources, materials characteristics, and product functionality. Translate critical features in working designs and tech packs for suppliers. Review and negotiate specific details during the sampling process related to design specifications. Maintain end-to-end golf bag development status within Centric (PLM), coordinating tech pack release and supplier sampling execution. Maintain daily communication with overseas vendors and supplier to manage development timelines, costing and product readiness. Collaborate daily with regional teams in China and Vietnam to support product execution. Manage all Prototype request submission, tracking, and receipt. Perform Proto review and prepare detailed feedback for communication with Design teams and suppliers. Act as liaison during development cycle with internal and external groups to ensure product is being developed as intended at each Proto stage (e.g.: Design Team, Engineering Team, Manufacturing Partners). Track development through internal WIPs and lead the communication on calendar timing, materials, sample schedule and risk avoidance to all stakeholders. Coordinate with Product Development Manager to perform FOB cost analysis throughout the development cycle ensuring costing targets are met for all products. Manage Standard Costing for Cost Accounting team. Collaborate with Taiwan-based Material Innovation team to identify, develop, and present innovative fabric concepts that support Design vision and performance requirements. Manage, coordinate and maintain fabric, trim, and sample library. Coordinate material physical and chemical testing results to ensure compliance with quality and performance standards. Maintain product development schedule/calendar ensuring all milestone and timelines are met. Manage product suppliers for each category, establishing and enforcing criteria for design, manufacturing and delivery execution while working with the Quality/Engineering function to ensure quality standards are met. Work with Quality Engineering to ensure proper material and durability testing is completed. Lead wear-testing evaluations to validate product performance against quality and durability standards. 5% domestic travel required to attend various industry related tradeshows/fabric markets/competitive shopping to identify accessory category trend and source innovation around fabric, trim, construction and components for Soft Goods categories. 15% international travel required to visit manufacturers to oversee sampling and request material, engineering, quality and timeline changes as needed to meet product line plans and customer satisfaction of finished product, and to conduct on-site visits to supplier facilities in Asia to review samples, assess production readiness, and resolve development or quality issues.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Design, Merchandising Management, or a closely related field plus two (2) years of experience in the offered position or closely related occupation;
or a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Design, Merchandising Management, or a closely related field.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess expertise/knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Such expertise/knowledge cannot be "quantified" by "time". Required expertise/knowledge includes:
- Hands-on product design or product development experience.
- Working knowledge of nylon and polyester materials and trims used on sporting goods, including fabric construction, coatings, webbing, zippers and hardware.
- Understanding of sporting goods business operations, including SKU management and costing/margin fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of pattern development and production construction processes, including cut-and-sew manufacturing methods.
- Working knowledge of Pantone Color System with hands-on experience selecting, specifying and approving color standards.
- Experience in Adobe Illustrator (product line art, callouts and document updates).

OTHER: 40 hours/week. Salary range: $99,070 per year to $107,200 per year. If offered employment must have legal right to work in U.S. EOE.
