DescriptionESC has an exciting opportunity for a
Product Designer to join our premier retail client's team
. This is a
full-time remote position. The ideal candidate is a systems-minded designer with expert-level Figma skills and a passion for scalable design, mobile UX, and cross-functional collaboration.
In this role, you'll play a key part in evolving our client's design system to support a mobile app redesign, enabling consistent, guest-centered experiences across web and mobile platforms. You'll work closely with engineers, product managers, and other designers to build reliable, flexible, and future-ready system assets that drive impact at scale.
Key Responsibilities - Build and maintain component libraries, tokens, variables, and advanced workflows in Figma
- Push Figma to its limits to deliver scalable, consistent assets for designers across the enterprise
- Ensure seamless system translation across iOS, Android, and web platforms with a mobile-first mindset
- Partner with engineers to align design tokens and variables, and troubleshoot implementation challenges
- Define and uphold system governance-contribution, versioning, and maintenance models
- Lead enablement efforts including onboarding, office hours, and system documentation for design and engineering teams
- Collaborate with UX Research to validate components and patterns, ensuring accessibility and user-centricity
- Monitor industry trends and Figma innovations to proactively evolve the design system
- Ensure system alignment with brand identity and evolving visual standards
- Contribute to team rituals, facilitate critiques, and support cross-functional workshops
Qualifications - 5-7 years of experience in UX/UI or product design roles, with at least 2 years focused on design systems
- Strong portfolio showcasing mobile app design (iOS & Android) and system-level thinking
- Expert-level Figma skills, including components, variables, tokens, libraries, and workflow optimization
- BS/BA in Design, HCI, or related field (preferred)
- Familiarity with front-end development concepts (HTML, CSS, JS frameworks, design tokens)
- Proven collaboration skills with developers, product managers, and brand teams
- Strong communication skills to articulate design intent and system rationale clearly
- Experience designing for accessibility and usability at scale
- Organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven with strong time management skills
Nice to Have - Experience managing and scaling design systems in large organizations
- Knowledge of Figma plugins and design ops best practices
- Background in beauty, eCommerce, or enterprise-level digital environments
- Development literacy or experience working closely with front-end engineers
- Comfortable leading training, onboarding, and change management for design system adoption
