Full Job Description
Product Chief Engineer, Fuel and Hydraulic Distribution serves as the senior technical authority for hose, tube, and connector product lines, providing technical leadership, risk assessment, and engineering guidance to ensure product performance, quality, reliability, and compliance.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $130000 - $190000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:
• Provide technical authority for complex projects and programs within the product line by assessing completeness, compatibility, compliance, and technical risk.
• Consult as the product-line subject matter expert on complex assignments across the Division and Group.
• Establish and reinforce engineering expectations, best practices, and performance measures aligned with divisional and group-level objectives.
• Review product designs, technical deliverables, and verification activities for alignment with customer requirements, performance expectations, quality objectives, and cost targets.
• Assess trade-offs between business needs, technology requirements, cost, product-line risk, and customer requirements.
• Identify internal and external technical collaboration opportunities that enhance product-line capability and business performance.
• Present technical information, project status, risk assessments, and recommendations to senior technical and business leadership, including Group CTO and/or VP/GM level audiences.
• Recommend and evaluate engineering process improvements to improve technical quality, reliability, efficiency, and consistency of engineering output.
• Mentor and consult with engineering teams to strengthen technical capability, problem-solving effectiveness, and product-line knowledge.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of ten (10) years combined new product development and sustainment engineering experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years aerospace experience.

• This position requires access to export-controlled information. • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Jackson, MI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of new product development experience in the aerospace industry.
• Earned journeyman-level certification in Shainin Red-X problem-solving methodology or equivalent.
• Certified as a Design for Six Sigma Black Belt or actively pursuing certification.
• Experience working directly with customers to resolve complex technical issues.

Skills:
• Deep technical knowledge of aerospace hose, tube, connector, and/or fuel and hydraulic distribution product functionality and design.
• Recognized technical expertise within Division, Group, or external industry environments.
• Strong understanding of requirements management, systems engineering, verification, airworthiness certification, and adjacent technical disciplines.
• Ability to evaluate analysis, tolerance stack-ups, functional dimensions, environmental effects, external forces, wear, and failure modes for mechanical and flexible components.
• Demonstrated ability to influence technology roadmaps, product roadmaps, engineering processes, and technical decision-making without direct supervisory authority.
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience applying structured technical problem-solving methods to complex product or process issues.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate technical risk, recommendations, and project status to senior leadership, customers, and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to mentor engineers, facilitate lessons learned, contribute to innovation events, and build organizational technical capability.
