Your role We are seeking a Release Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases for our Global Portal. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end release lifecycle, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of enhancements, bug fixes, and new features. This role bridges the gap between product, engineering, QA, DevOps, and customer success teams, ensuring that all customer portal releases are well-coordinated, risk-assessed, and aligned with broader business goals.

What you'll do

Release Planning & Coordination
  • Define and manage the release calendar for the Global Portal, coordinating across teams and regions.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineering, QA, and business stakeholders to plan release content and scope.
  • Identify and manage release dependencies with other teams or systems.

Execution & Deployment
  • Oversee the execution of release plans, including validation, packaging, deployment, and rollback strategies.
  • Facilitate go/no-go meetings and ensure all required approvals and sign-offs are secured.
  • Ensure smooth production deployments across all portal environments (e.g., staging, QA, UAT, prod).

Risk & Issue Management
  • Monitor release-related risks and escalate blockers or issues promptly.
  • Maintain contingency plans and coordinate hotfixes or patch releases as needed.

Process Improvement
  • Define and improve release governance, automation, and change management processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on speed, quality, and reliability of portal releases.

Communication & Reporting
  • Act as the single point of contact for all release-related communications.
  • Provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of release notes, schedules, and outcomes.

Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with UX, customer support, localization, security, and compliance teams to ensure release readiness.
  • Support global rollouts and regional customizations in line with localization and regulatory requirements.

What you'll need
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in release management, preferably for customer-facing portals or SaaS platforms.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and version control (e.g., Git).
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Familiarity with service ticketing and user management systems (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceNow, or custom platforms).
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with global portals and interconnected legacy system migrations.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards, internationalization (i18n), and compliance (e.g., GDPR).
• PMP, ITIL, or SAFe certification is a plus.
