Full Job Description
JPI is seeking an experienced Federal government contracting and procurement expert (e.g., former GS-1102) who possesses specialized training, experience, and proven success in federal contracting activities, policy, and career path management with the ability to translate business strategy into decisions, process standardization, and improvement.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Support the contracting and procurement organization and Head of the Contracting Activity for the USCG as part of a team reporting to the Senior Project Manager leading support to the office.
  • Support contracting policy and procedural guidance development and updates, and coordinate with relevant teams for publication and training.
  • Support contracting and procurement career management team and related training activities.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and deliver job aids, training artifacts, and quick reference guides to support contracting specialists and requirements owners.
  • Report project activities, risks, issues, scope, and progress to executive management, and keeping project teams and decision makers moving toward consistent, business and/or mission focused goals and objectives.
  • Manage assigned projects through all required governance processes, ensuring all required deliverables are completed for each process.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and consultation related to contracting and procurement regulations, procedures, and career management to support the implementation of best practices across project workstreams.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) in a relevant field (Business Management, Public Administration, Finance/Economics, Political Science, etc.)
  • 15+ years of experience in Federal contracting and procurement (e.g. former GS-1102, etc.)
  • Current or former FAC-C professional certification
  • Experience managing or implementing Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and related Agency polices
  • Prior experience working with federal government organizations and/or military branches
  • Demonstrated project management experience within a federal government organization
  • Experience reviewing deliverables to deliver high-quality results and work products
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including senior executive leadership engagement
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Products and SharePoint
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with or supporting career path management for federal contract specialist
  • Prior experience working with the U.S. Coast Guard
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience shaping business development opportunities and guiding potential clients towards corporate objectives
  • Existing Clearance or Public Trust
