Job SummaryThe Procurement Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing PSEG's Procurement Operations team. The responsibilities for this position would include: provide overall direction to the Procurement Analysts and associates, assign and supervise daily work,, management of the 3rd party Procurement associates team, and develop strategies to leverage spend to realize cost reductions. The position would be responsible for the development and training of the Analysts and would ensure consistent process methodologies are utilized.
At this time, only current PSEG employees are being considered. Preference will be given to qualified employees within the Procurement department.
Job Responsibilities- Responsible for leading the daily Procurement operations. This includes prioritizing and delegating tasks to the team, trouble-shooting issues, and addressing key stakeholders when necessary.
- Responsible for managing purchase requisitions in alignment with established procurement practices. This includes reviewing requisitions and change orders, converting them into purchase orders, and authorizing the acquisition of goods and services. The role encompasses both training and leading responsibilities, combining hands on training with the guidance and development of team members. Develop and monitor key metrics that measure the accuracy and efficiency of the team. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Manage and provide support for Procurement 3rd party operations team which includes, adherence to all Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and contract requirements
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, managing, and developing of Procurement Operations team. Key skills include purchasing with e-purchasing tools (Ariba, SAP), negotiations, communications, and time management.
- Interface with other PSEG Procurement groups to ensure process consistency and adopting improvements. Participate and lead when appropriate continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead cost analysis and track procurement savings metrics
- Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement strategies that align with the department and organizational goals.
- Drive strategic planning initiatives with focus on process efficiency and operational excellence
Job Specific Qualifications- Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (may be waived if person has greater than 10 years business experience)
- Minimum 5 years of Procurement / Supply Chain experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience using e-Procurement tools such as SAP and Ariba
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of supervisory / management experience
- Demonstrated skills related to customer service and developing client relationships
- Superb communications skills - both oral and written
- Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
