The OpportunityAdobe has a fantastic opportunity for a Global Strategic Sourcing - Marketing Manager to join our dynamic team in Lehi, UT or San Jose, CA. You will engage with Marketing, Brand, and Communications professionals to build procurement strategies that deliver measurable value. You will also maintain connections with marketing agencies and external suppliers carefully.
What you'll DoCategory Strategy Development- Build and own comprehensive category strategies in one or multiple areas, such as creative, production, events, media, PR, sponsorships, content creation, and AI/martech, grounded in spend analysis, market intelligence, and partner business priorities.
- Translate multi-year Marketing business plans into corresponding sourcing roadmaps, identifying where to consolidate spend, diversify supply base, or pilot new commercial models.
Savings & Value Delivery- Own savings delivery as a core performance metric, setting targets, tracking realized vs. targeted savings, and reporting progress to Finance and Senior Leadership on a consistent cadence.
- Identify and pursue savings across multiple levers, unit cost reduction, scope and SOW efficiency, payment term optimization, rate card benchmarking, and demand management, not pricing alone.
- Structure agency compensation, sponsorship value, and AI vendor pricing models (usage-based, subscription, outcome-based) to improve value while guaranteeing that savings are contractually secured, not just negotiated verbally.
- Partner with Finance to validate savings methodology and ensure savings are recognized and reconciled against budget in a consistent, auditable way.
Negotiation & Risk Mitigation- Lead complex negotiations with agencies, media partners, sponsorship rights holders, and technology vendors on pricing, contract terms, scope, payment structures, and performance incentives.
- Identify and mitigate risk across the marketing supply base, including data privacy, intellectual property and usage permissions, and vendor concentration risk, particularly relevant to AI tools and content ownership.
Partnership & Influence- Act as a trusted strategic advisor to Marketing, Communications, and Corporate Affairs leadership, embedding procurement early in planning cycles rather than as a downstream approval step.
- Build credibility and influence outcomes in a matrixed environment lacking formal control, balancing business urgency with procurement rigor.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment across Legal, Finance, Risk, and Data Privacy on contract structure, IP/licensing rights, and compliance considerations.
Process, Governance & Enablement- Build and maintain playbooks, templates, RFx frameworks, and negotiation guides to scale standards and enable repeatable execution across the category.
- Establish governance frameworks for emerging areas such as AI marketing tool procurement, including data security, model usage rights, and vendor risk assessment.
Team Partnership- Foster a psychologically safe team environment that encourages open feedback, collaborative problem-solving, and continuous skill development.
- Mentor team members on negotiation technique, planning for categories, and partner management.
What you need to succeed- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant certification (CPSM, MCIPS) a plus.
