Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing the procurement of direct materials (blanks, components, and raw materials) based on Oracle MRP data, indirect products, services, capital equipment, and facilities for the Optical Solutions Division totaling over $50M.

Responsible for:
  • All procurement metrics, including cost savings.
  • Tier 1 supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality RPPM, and supplier score cards.
  • All Master Supply Agreements.
  • New supplier qualification process, along with quality assurance and engineering.
  • ERP procurement system development and training.
  • Certification of ISO 9001 Clause 8.4 Control of Externally Provided Processes, Products and Services.
  • Procurement, receiving, issuing, and returning precious metals for refining.
  • Compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, ITAR, Trade Compliance, and Supplier Diversity regulations.
  • Attending and presenting at all required meetings.
  • Coordinating Saxonburg supplier visits to negotiate pricing, review performance, and to keep informed of pricing and lead-time trends as well as new products. Visit supplier facilities as required.
  • Supporting Corporate Purchasing for any projects as required.
  • Management of the procurement department.
  • Supervision of the IR Buyers, including annual reviews and regular check-in meetings.
  • Assigning responsibilities and balancing the workload for the buyers.
  • Developing and maintaining a documented training program for the procurement department.
  • Developing and maintaining procedures, work instructions, and forms for the procurement department.


Education & Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or an equivalent degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years purchasing experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment that utilizes an ERP system, Oracle preferred.
