WHAT WE'RE DOING

The Procurement Engineer will tactically support the Sikorsky manufacturing floor. Also referred to as a Factory Floor SQE, the candidate will be continuously engaged in manufacturing issues that are deemed Supplier responsible. The Factory Floor SQE will report through the Supplier Quality Management hierarchy with dotted line engagement through the Production Quality Leaders in their assigned area.

THE WORK

Detailed Tasks:
- Review nonconformances with the Quality Engineer at time of discovery to determine if the nonconformance is a Supplier related escape

- Communicate Supplier escape with SQE

- Determine location and status of all potential nonconforming product

- Submit Stock Reinspect Request Orders (RROs) in SAP to support triage and containment activities

- Review Discrepancy Reports (DRs) and perform triage activities including Supplier Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA)

-Input Responsible code, Charge Code, and Symptom Code

-Ensure photos of nonconformance is attached and actual condition states the "is" and "should be" statement

Coordinates with Sourcing, Operations, Design Engineering, the Supply Base and Industry experts to facilitate the design, production, test and qualification of aerospace and defense products. Analyzes technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and parts/equipment availability. Investigates and recommends potential suppliers based on assessments of response to specifications, costs, inspection of facilities, and historical performance. Facilitate technical trade-offs and standardization that may lead to more economical procurement. Recommends design changes to mitigate production issues. Leads teams of Supplier and internal staff in collaboratively solving problems in Producibility, Quality, Inspection, Cost, Mistake-Proofing, Test, Reliability and Affordability.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Quality Systems knowledge (RCCA, Inspection Tools)
  • Manufacturing knowledge
  • Ability to interpret Blueprints
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Give me an example of a time you paid close attention to detail and how it helped you avoid a mistake.

Communication: Can you describe a time when you had to deliver a presentation or report to your team or to a group of stakeholders. Whe was the audience, how did you prepare and what technology platform did you use to deliver it? How did it turn out?

Cross Cultural Agility: Tell me about a time when you helped a new team member acclimate to your department. How did you go about making him or her feel welcome and part of the team? What worked well and was there anything you would do differently.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
