About this Role

Carrier is a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, committed to creating safe, sustainable, and high-performance environments. We are seeking a Process Quality Engineer to support our manufacturing facility in Athens, GA.

This role is a hands-on, plant-based position responsible for improving product and process quality, driving operational excellence, and supporting production teams. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Service teams to reduce defects, improve yield, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive scrap reduction and improve first-pass yield (FPY) across manufacturing processes


  • Support daily production activities, including defect resolution and non-conforming material management


  • Perform Gemba walks and partner with production teams to review quality metrics and resolve issues in real time


  • Lead and participate in cross-functional improvement projects focused on process reliability and product quality


  • Investigate and resolve customer claims and field issues, ensuring feedback is integrated into manufacturing processes


  • Conduct process audits and internal ISO audits to ensure compliance with quality standards


  • Utilize tools such as PFMEA, control plans, and quality systems to identify and mitigate risk


  • Analyze production and quality data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives


  • Partner with Supplier Quality, Engineering, and Operations to address root cause and corrective actions


  • Support monthly reporting and quality performance tracking


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering


  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial operations environment with exposure to quality systems, process improvement, and root cause analysis


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a production or plant setting


  • Ability to analyze and solve quality or process-related issues


  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple teams


  • Experience in automotive or heavy industrial manufacturing environments


  • Background in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial engineering


  • Experience with data analytics, data systems, or process automation


  • Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., PFMEA, PPAP, root cause analysis)


  • ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA) or ISO auditing experience


  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools


Additional Information

  • This is a fully onsite role based in a manufacturing plant environment in Athens, GA


  • The role requires significant time on the production floor working alongside operations teams


  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA. No visa sponsorship is available


Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $129,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation
This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
