Full Job Description
The Role

Within Additive Manufacturing, you'll be the owner for quality and qualification. Qualification has long been one of the biggest hurdles standing in the way of additive being used at scale, and this role is full of opportunities to rethink how it's done and change the way qualification works for this industry going forward. This role is for someone ready to take on highly technical, independent work and be the backbone of how we prove out our processes and hardware.
  • Own and execute all first article inspection plans for additive hardware, along with qualification validation and implementation.
  • Define control plans and ensure specification compliance across powder, build, and post processing steps.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action for additive builds and hardware issues as they arise.
  • Act as the primary NDE owner for all additive processes, leading development of new inspection methods and techniques as our capabilities grow.
  • Partner with quality and NDE to define inspection plans, acceptance criteria, and sampling strategies, driving measurement system analysis and validation of inspection methods as needed.
  • Oversee quality for the team, including writing process control documents, and work with company quality executives to help integrate additive manufacturing into a broader, successful quality system.
  • Serve as the team's point of contact for quality and supply chain, including working with external vendors on special process control, qualification, and continuous improvement across powder supply, post processing, coatings, and inspection services.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a quality, qualification, or NDE focused role within manufacturing, with additive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Hands on experience developing and executing first article inspection plans and qualification packages.
  • Working knowledge of NDE methods such as CT, X-ray, penetrant, and ultrasonic inspection, including how to validate and apply them to additive hardware.
  • Experience writing process control documentation and working cross functionally.

What Will Set You Apart
  • Background managing supplier or vendor quality relationships, particularly for powder, post processing, or coatings.
  • Familiarity with statistical sampling and measurement system analysis methodology.
  • Experience supporting production scale up or new process introduction in a high rate manufacturing environment.
  • Background in aerospace, aviation, defense, energy, or similar industries with high specification requirements.
  • Familiarity with industry specialized material standards, certification requirements, or quality systems such as NADCAP, AMS7000 series, AS9100, and relevant ASTM/AMS additive manufacturing specifications.
  • Familiarity with fracture control classification of components and associated qualification requirements.

Compensation:

For this role, the target salary range is $135,000 - $200,000(actual range may vary based on experience).

This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

About Hadrian

Hadrianadri?ja?n?s]; 24 January 76 – 10 July 138) was Roman emperor from 117 to 138. He was born in Italica, a Roman municipium founded by Italic settlers in Hispania Baetica and he came from a branch of the gens Aelia that originated in the Picenean town of Hadria, the Aeli Hadriani. His father was of senatorial rank and was a first cousin of Emperor Trajan. Hadrian married Trajan's grand-niece Vibia Sabina early in his career before Trajan became emperor and possibly at the behest of Trajan's wife Pompeia Plotina. Plotina and Trajan's close friend and adviser Lucius Licinius Sura were well disposed towards Hadrian. When Trajan died, his widow claimed that he had nominated Hadrian as emperor immediately before his death. Rome's military and Senate approved Hadrian's succession, but four leading senators were unlawfully put to death soon after. They had opposed Hadrian or seemed to threaten his succession, and the Senate held him responsible for their deaths and never forgave him. He earned further disapproval among the elite by abandoning Trajan's expansionist policies and territorial gains in Mesopotamia, Assyria, Armenia, and parts of Dacia. Hadrian preferred to invest in the development of stable, defensible borders and the unification of the empire's disparate peoples. He is known for building Hadrian's Wall, which marked the northern limit of Britannia.
