Full Job Description
Process Engineering Manager

You will be responsible for:

Ensuring translation of laboratory processes to plant scale, ensuring that capacity / quality issues are addressed through de-bottlenecking and to develop the Capex program.

What You'll Be Doing:

Be part of a team that values diversity, sustainability, and continuous innovation, where your ideas and contributions matter. Responsible for maintaining quality standards in the department.
• Align all resources in the department to deliver ongoing process improvement/troubleshooting alongside the site capital project plan.
• Apply broad technical knowledge and consult with research teams to introduce new products and technologies to site.
• Overall responsibility for managing Capital Expenditure program for the business, along with a variety of decisions relating to NPI and Capex which can have an impact upon other departments, are conducted under occasional supervision of the line manager.
• Manage the delivery of multiple projects with timescales in the range of 1 - 3 years. Examples include technology transfer, design of plants. Processes for the site planning include site investments like infrastructure, capabilities, and site capacities.
• Lead project teams for design and execution of projects.
• Manage the overall performance of the department including appraisals, training, development, recognition, and discipline.
• Manage innovative solutions to ensure compliance with SHE, manufacturing, and quality constraints.
• Have regular influence across most departments on site including the site senior team, sales and cross-site technical teams on manufacturing and technical matters.
• Communicate at all levels in the site organisation and occasionally off site with other technical audiences.
• Consult with R&T, other sites, engineering teams, equipment suppliers, and external consultants for the projects.
• Manage annual department cost budget.
• Continually improve, develop, implement, and maintain an effective system for process improvements and optimisation from laboratory experiments through to full scale production trials.
• Communicate with all functions on site, global technical teams, and sales teams.
• External communication with regulators, customers, suppliers, and academia.
• Proportion of time between external and internal contacts: 90% internal, 10% external.

• Knowledge of site processes and working knowledge of scientific and engineering principles.
