Title: Process Engineering Manager- Conversion

Job Summary:

The Process Engineering Manager - Conversion is responsible for leading the Conversion Process Engineering team to ensure that manufacturing processes consistently produce high-quality output efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively. This role provides technical leadership in process engineering, drives improvements in process capability, and supports strategic initiatives in productivity, quality, and continuous improvement. The manager collaborates closely with Production, Quality, R&D, and Maintenance to implement process improvements and operational innovations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Leads and develops the Process Engineering - Conversion team.
  • Provides technical direction, mentorship, and performance management for process engineers.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the Conversion Balanced Scorecard (BSC) to drive improvements in productivity and quality (e.g., OTD, scrap, efficiency, and yield).
  • Lead process validation, capability studies, and design of experiments (DOE) for key process parameters.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis (8D or PPS) for internal or customer quality issues.
  • Identify and justify new equipment or technology investments to support business growth (CAPEX).
  • Oversee the validation of new equipment through IQ/OQ/PQ.
  • Ensure proper follow-up by process engineers to close in-process NC investigations within two weeks.
  • Follow up on timely closure of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
  • Promote the use of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies throughout the department.
  • Ensure all processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Process engineering, particularly molding, Machining, stamping and or wire forming. Experience with precious metals and their applications is a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead process optimization, DOE studies, and statistical analysis for process control.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management abilities.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to translate complex technical data for management and non-technical teams.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Made2Manage preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in process engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Professional certifications in Lean, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), or related process improvement disciplines preferred.
  • Experience managing capital projects and implementing new manufacturing technologies.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Occasional presence on the production floor and exposure to manufacturing environments.
