Job Req: 253234WHD Microsystems (HDM) is a 50-50 joint venture between Qnity Electronics and Resonac. HDM is a growing global technology business selling electronic materials to first tier manufacturing companies in the semiconductor, hard disk drive and displays industries. The Process Engineer in the Operations Team works in support of HDM's Polyimide business in a batch process to manufacture their products.
Functional Responsibilities- Provide technical support and advanced troubleshooting for polyimide resin production
- Identify and respond to opportunities to improve safety, quality, environmental compliance, reliability, capacity, and uptime
- Act as the Management of Change lead for the area
- Use Six Sigma methodology to implement programs to improve quality and product performance at customers
- Work with multifunctional teams to assure polyimide resin production is meeting requirements in quality and uniformity
- Monitor production performance and act proactively to correct trends or changes in product performance
- Track and manage critical parameters in order to assure first quality product and good manufacturing performance
- Lead quality investigations, as assigned, from customer complaints or defects.
- Provide technical link between Business, Quality and R&D
- Develop a fundamental understanding of the process chemistry and production process
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Represent manufacturing for new product / process developments including plant trials, scale-ups, and capital projects
- Provide on call support to manufacturing for product/formulation/process issues/concerns
Experience- Degree in Chemical Engineering
- 2-5 years of manufacturing experience
- Experience in process/product development preferred
- SAP knowledge or background
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Teamwork oriented
- Six Sigma trained
- Understand ISO registration requirements
- Quality focused on VOC, internal & external, needs
Problem Solving- Good mechanical aptitude
- Be able to troubleshoot issues quickly and with minimized downtime
- Be able to work with Operators and Engineering to solve problems on production line
- Implement sustainable programs to improve process and production conditions
- Implement sustainable programs to improve product quality
