OverviewTHE ROLE
The Position: The Process Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of Process Engineers to drive both tactical and strategic improvements across manufacturing operations. This role serves as a key link between engineering, production, and plant leadership to ensure processes are efficient, and aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU9;LL DO
- Directly work with operators on the shop floor to solve tactical day-to-day improvement projects
- Assist Corporate Manufacturing Engineering and Senior Process Engineers with larger projects as required
- Author and maintain work instructions for the shop floor
- Maintain MES system data in plants where applicable (work instructions, material consumption etc.)
- Maintain PFMEAs under supervision of Senior Process Engineer and assist Quality in maintenance of Control Plan
- Participate in Root Cause 6 Corrective Action exercises for defects that occurred in their assigned area
- Serve as a technical liaison between Production Engineering and Operations
- Assist in manufacturability studies with Production Engineering and Corporate 3ore Engineering
- Purchase of hand tools and small equipment in support of improvement projects
- Design of shop aids and small tooling in support of improvement projects
- Own the process and collaborate with Corporate Manufacturing Engineering on the execution of manufacturing pilots and manufacturing trials to support new product and new process designs
- Train operators on any new processes and process changes
- Collaborate with Operations Supervisors to guide training, both new employees and recurring training in assigned area
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 3-8 years of manufacturing experience
- Skills:
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to lead a team of Process Engineers
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with development and management of PFMEA and Control Plans
- Experience with manufacturability studies
- Extensive experience with drafting and maintaining work instructions
- Experience with 2D drafting and 3D modelling (AutoCAD, DraftSight, SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.)
- Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to effectively communicate with plant management and operators
- Experience with new product development a plus
- Analytical problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles, industry certifications a plus (Lean Specialist, Green Belt, Black Belt, etc.)
- Travel: 15%
