We are looking for a Process Engineer who will help lead the execution of Quality and Process Improvement projects and activities using standard PI tools such as Qualpro, MVT/DOE, Kepner Tregoe PSDM. Use a Hierarchy of values (Safety, Quality, Service, Cost) in prioritizing, using plans and executing capital improvements resulting from these projects.
Essential Duties
Lead process design reviews, raw material qualification and product and process qualification and capability studies.
Performs PPA/FMEA on all major process and raw material changes.
Train production personnel on Statistical process Control (SPC).
Leads the application and interpretation of SPC charting Train and educates personnel on company products, plant and corporate quality policies and procedures; including internal and external personnel, suppliers and customers.
Conduct internal compliance audits of production tests, process specifications, plant change notices (PCN’s) and other in-plant processes.
Coordinate Plant Trials with R&D and plant personnel.
Ensures trials are accurately conducted and reported.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
5+ years process engineering experience
Must have the ability to lead a team
Works well in difficult and time pressure situations
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, PLC and AutoCAD.
Qualifications Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical OR Chemical Engineering a plus
Experience with asphaltic, shingle manufacturing OR adjacent manufacturing
