Position Summary
The Process Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality process engineering solutions across all project phases, including FEED, detailed engineering, and commissioning support. The role ensures that facilities are technically robust, safe, operable, compliant, and economically optimized, while fully aligning with contractual requirements and client objectives through close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced project environment.
This role supports engineering, customer services and project teams to ensure that the designs operate safely, efficiently, and reliably in accordance with applicable international standards and company specifications.
Responsibilities
• Develop and review of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Heat & Material Balances
• Perform process simulations using tools such as Aspen HYSYS, UniSim, or ProMax
• Size and specify process equipment such as separators, compressors, pumps, exchangers, columns, treatment packages, etc.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and system analysis (flare, relief, piping).
• Participate in Conceptual Design, FEED and Detailed Engineering
• Prepare key deliverables documents such as Process Design Basis, Equipment datasheets, Line lists and tie-in lists, Control narratives and Cause & Effect diagrams.
• Interface with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Piping, I&C, Electrical)
• Participate in safety studies such as HAZID / HAZOP / LOPA
• Design and validate Relief systems (PSVs, flare systems), Process safeguarding systems.
• Ensure compliance with international standards and regulations such as API, ASME, ANSI, NFPA, ISO, IEC, OSHA, EPA, and local codes.
• Support procurement activities and technical bid evaluations.
• Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SIT (Site Integration Test), and commissioning/start-up activities.
• Review installation procedures and start-up protocols.
• Provide troubleshooting support during commissioning and early operation.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose improvements.
• Support performance testing and plant optimization.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
• Interface with vendors and multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation and controls, operations and maintenance teams).
• Develop and update internal specifications, guidelines, engineering standards and best practices related to process engineering.
• Maintain technical documentation and lessons learned.
• Provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers and maintenance staff.
• Communicate effectively and consistently with internal and external clients.
• Attend client meetings as required with sales staff to support current and future projects.
• Attend production meetings and provide status reports on managed repairs.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Oil, Gas & Power industry
• Proven experience in gas processing, oil & gas facilities, and utilities systems.
• Strong background in FEED and detailed engineering
• Strong technical skills in process simulation (Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UniSim, ProMax), hydraulic analysis tools (AFT Fathom, Arrow, PIPENET or CAESAR II - preferred), HTRI, Aspen EDR, Advanced Excel
• Familiarity with API 520/521, ASME B31.3
• Strong communication and reporting skills; ability to interact with vendors and multidisciplinary teams, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
