Responsibilities

  • Lead process development and scale-up, defining process windows and material-process relationships for robust, reproducible manufacturing
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to align product, material, process, and manufacturingrequirements
  • Partner with product development engineers on prototyping, process development, andcommercialization
  • Serve as a key technical interface with manufacturing teams, external partners, and suppliers
  • Plan and execute experiments, process trials, scale-up, validation, and sample delivery
  • Troubleshoot material and process issues with manufacturing, quality, and supplier partners
  • Align technical requirements and manufacturing readiness across cross-functional teams
  • Analyze and document results, specifications, validation outcomes, and recommendations
  • Identify equipment and process capability needs with engineering partners
  • Assess manufacturing capacity, supplier capability, process risk, and commercialization readiness


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or comparable Engineering degree
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in R&D process development, scale-up, or validation
  • Experience with external manufacturers, suppliers, or partners
  • Competence in web handling and process mapping between materials, conditions, and product performance
  • Understanding of design for manufacturing principles
  • Strong data analysis, experimental execution, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Effective cross-functional communication including across engineering and supply chain
  • Ability to translate product requirements into specifications.
  • Ability to work hands-on and manage priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.


Desired Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a closely related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in R&D process development and scale-up involving compression, expansion, coating, and lamination.


This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore's work arrangement policies.
