Job Summary

The Process Controls Engineer role is based in Memphis, TN (onsite). Be part of a collaborative, solution-oriented, technically advanced team where together we can achieve greatness and make a real impact.

Where You’ll Make a Difference

  • Serve as the technical lead for plant automation, process control systems, and electrical infrastructure
  • Design, program, and maintain PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), HMI (Human Machine Interface), PID control loops, and VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and process control issues, improving plant reliability and operational performance
  • Lead and support capital projects, including control system upgrades, migrations, and new system implementations
  • Act as the primary contact for process control systems, data historians, and control networks
  • Identify and implement process control and automation improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to support production, EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety), cost, and quality goals
  • Lead investigations into process control incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained
  • Standardize and optimize control strategies, logic, and HMI interfaces across the facility

What Makes You the Right Fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution
  • 5+ years of experience in automation, process control, or electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control systems architecture, and process control principles
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Rockwell preferred), HMI configuration, and process control troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), electrical drawings, and control logic diagrams
  • Experience supporting or leading capital projects and system upgrades
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation as needed

How Would You Stand Out?

  • Experience in high-hazard, food, or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) elements such as Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Management of Change (MOC)
  • Experience standardizing or optimizing plant-wide automation and control systems
