Procedural Services Director at Barnes Jewish Hospital

Responsible for the clinical, operational, financial and human resource management across all assigned cost centers at BJH. Responsible for collaboration with operational areas within Procedural Services which includes; Gastroenterology, Interventional Pulmonology, Pain Management & Cardiac Diagnostic Departments for the East Region. Serves as liaison for WashU and BJC Med Group physicians associated with the service line.

Preferred Qualifications

Scope: Responsible for the clinical, operational, financial and human resource management across all assigned cost centers at BJH. Responsible for collaboration with operational areas within Procedural Services which includes; Gastroenterology, Interventional Pulmonology, Pain Management & Cardiac Diagnostic Departments for the East Region. Serves as liaison for WashU and BJC Med Group physicians associated with the service line.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight of nursing clinical practice within procedural service locations across BJH
  • Maintain regulatory readiness of procedural service locations across BJH
  • Collaborate with physicians, service line members and administrative staff to plan, assess and revise goals, objectives and strategies related to business development.
  • Leverage financial performance information, market share, utilization of resources and physician practice patterns to implement solutions to positively impact results.
  • Ensure system readiness for service growth, contractual commitments, and leadership transition

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in Nursing
  • 2-5 years of experience
  • 2-5 years of supervisory experience
  • RN


Preferred Requirements:
  • Master's in Business/Nursing/Related
  • Working knowledge of Procedural Services; key differentiated programs and environment. Understanding of related quality & regulatory standards.
  • Throughput optimization experience (OR block utilization, clinic access, pt. flow, etc.) Project management skills (Lean/Six Sigma) / PI skills. Workforce productivity management
  • Procedural Services P & L management (revenues, costs, contribution margin.) Capital planning, & ROI analysis, volume forecasting models, and market share growth strategies. Understanding of reimbursement models, and "My Analytics" tools/reports
  • Ability to interpret dashboards, use of benchmarking tools, translating data into actionable strategies
  • Familiarity with physician alignment strategies, program development, competitive positioning and referral network optimization concepts.
