JOB SUMMARYThe CBRE Private Equity Analyst position is responsible for interaction within our internal organization, borrowers, clients, contractors, attorneys, title companies, architects, brokers, appraisers, and other deal related parties. The position requires the ability to independently perform: preparation of formal written presentations analyzing a wide spectrum of issues relating to both loan and property-level requests, delivery of the highest level of customer service to both internal and external clients, prepare detailed financial analysis, modeling and commercial mortgage underwriting duties, abstracting of loan and transactional documents, property inspections, and other functions including; market / sub-market research and presentation and creation of written presentations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Assists Portfolio Managers by performing tasks involved in monitoring the performance and progress under business plans related to a defined portfolio of assigned commercial real estate loans and joint venture investments.
- Mentors, trains, and may manage analysts.
- Provides excellent customer service and problem resolution for clients, borrowers, and internal / external customers.
- Reviews and interprets loan documents, joint venture and other deal documents and monitors compliance in accordance with those documents.
- Analyses property level financial statements including operating statements, balance sheets and rent rolls.
- Conducts research and financial analysis of commercial real estate properties, loans and portfolios.
- Assists with data compilation for client decisions and makes presentations based on analysis that will be used for investment decisions.
- Builds and maintains complex financial models to track the performance of transactions from inception through deal exit, that require advanced excel skills and a solid understanding of time value of money principals.
- Builds and maintains financial models to track contracts and cash flows from the sellout of condominium projects or other sellout type projects.
- Builds and maintains complex financial models to track capital inflows and outflows related to ground up and major renovation commercial real estate deals with multiple capital partners.
- Reconciles and reviews loan draws for funding of construction, leasing and capital costs.
- Identifies project risk, develops risk mitigation strategies and/ or contingency plans, and implements action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.
- Performs valuations of properties in excel and/ or Argus.
- Conducts property inspections in coordination with client and/or 3rd party inspector as needed.
- Reviews budgets annually and monitors operating statements on a periodic basis, spreading both to industry standards upon receipt and benchmarking to the underwriting projections.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES May be responsible for training, mentoring or managing Portfolio Analysts or Associates.

- Exceptional professional writing and verbal communication skills are essential.
- General underwriting capabilities and an understanding of commercial and construction real estate asset types.
- Experience tracking construction projects for capital providers a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and simultaneously manage and effectively prioritize numerous complex transactions and issues.
- Detail oriented and dedicated to accuracy.
- Extensive MS Excel experience building models, both for tracking performance and forecasting cash flows.
- Complete understanding of time value of money concepts a must.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong problem resolution skills.
- Great attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Previous work experience in commercial real estate with focus on cash flow modeling, construction loan administration, valuation and / or loan servicing.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCEMaster's Degree in Business or Real estate, Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred. High School diploma or General Education Degree required with a minimum of 2 years related experience.
